06 SL (lemon/valve body) situation

New to the group thanks for having me ! Now a lil about my situation... Pretty much got bamboozled by Facebook marketplace, just bought an 06 SL with 103k miles, everything looked good until a day later I hear and feel the big thump and the SES light popped on...( At this point I was sick because I realize I got duped, scumbag obviously cleared the codes n sold me a lemon) the code was for shift solenoid A.. I did my reading and learned about the valve body... So I bit the bullet and brought it to a Nissan dealer, They agreed and said it needs the valve body but also said that it still might be problems because they hear a "noise" in the transmission ( I think they tried to get me to bite on a new tranny) I told em to just do the valve body , I don't have many other options so I gotta take the chance n hope for the best. Gonna cost me 2100 but I'm praying it solves my problems . I literally love the car everything else is pretty damn clean for an 06 in upstate NY... Just needed to vent to other maxima people lol everyone else thinks I'm a fool blah blah blah.. probably should of just bought the VB and tried to get it in myself but the confidence wasn't quite there 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ do you think I'll be good after the VB gets done?

Do you remember which fault code it was throwing(I'm assuming you probably checked obdII, sounds like)? I'm mainly wondering because I was getting a code at one point too for the vias solenoid on my 2005 Maxima...I bought the part online for like 12$ and the code went away and never came back again after that!!! That was a year ago now. I do worry it has tranny issues so I worry I'm just on borrowed time regardless, but I guess time will tell on that one, lol.

Forgot to update guys! Sorry

So yeah they did the valve body at Nissan almost 2 months ago now, and the tranny has been shifting fine ever since! Now I just gotta find someone to put in these 2 front motor mounts, They aren't in immediate need of replacement but I bought the mounts online anyway , Nissan wanted 2k for the job that's crazy! I Regret not trying the valve body myself but I'm glad they did it right and I can drive normally now!
