I bought a 16GB A-Data CF card for about 30 bucks. Works fine. Just dragged & dropped the music onto it.

Thanks for the info G00ch!
Yeah, I think that I'll also go and get a 16Gb card, as I have quite a few songs in my Itunes.

A few more posts, and I'll be able to post pics of my Max. (Precision Gray with Sport/Tech package)

In one of the photos on Nissan's website they have what looks like a Sport Package interior (no wood, just the piano-dot stuff) but with the dual panel roof. How do you get that combination? From what I've seen it's either sport package (which doesn't come with that roof) or premium package (which gives you the wood trim).

The NAV does play videos and DVD's through the video interface but only when the vehicles is in park and completly motionless. I just played a few videos via my IPOD in the garage to play with the options.

Question:
Which IPod do you have? Does it also play the videos from your IPod if you are driving or only when in park? When listening to songs from the Ipod does it show the album artwork or just generic artist and song info? I ask because I have an IPod touch and want to know if all this is possible.

I have a dumb question. Where are the subwoofers in this car? I've looked and listened all over and can't figure out where they are... it's driving me nuts!

Well...I bought an 09 Maxima. Black on black with Sport + Tech. I negotiated tint on the deal, so I pick it up on Sunday. I am coming from a 05 Altima SER and this car is a whole new world in terms of amenities. I am stoked!

Question: Does the Zune work with this car as well as the Ipod? I am debating between a Ipod Touch or a Zune...

The car has proprietary Apple iPod interface built in, but it also has auxiliary input for and device with stereo output.

So the car will work with both, however, with iPod it will let you control the iPod with car controls, as well as show ipod info in the nav console. With zune, you will just be able to listen through cars speakers, but you will have to control the device directly.

Current iPod cable will not charge latest generation of iPods.

I'm tempted to pull my maxima in with 250 miles on it and trade for one with the tech package. I messed with my friends handheld GPS and it made me want it built in. I may see what numbers look like if I did a trade this early.

I got the Nav package when buying the wife's Honda Ody. It was 2k extra, and there is still a long discussion on the Ody forum whether its worth it or not. There is no doubt in my mind that its worth it to ME, and the wife, who was not convinced at first is now a definite converter.
The handheld units are nice and have their nice points, but integration and bigger screen trumpts them all in my book.

Two pages back somebody was offered a "brand new" car with 4400 miles on it

300 miles could still pass for a new car. If you were at all thinking about it, do it sooner than later. Good luck either way.
I am still riding my 4th gen with 184k miles on it w/o nav/mp3/paddle shifters and all the new fancy stuff, nothing wrong with it.
But I soon as that goes, the fully loaded 7th gen is in my future

I would imagine they would give me close to what I paid for it with just 300 miles on it..but I'd lose the tax title etc....I would GUESS it would cost me out of pocket 3-5k to make the trade. I don't know..I want nav and im not sure I want to use a portable.

Either the photo was blury, or the car in the pic you saw in the photo was not OEM. The double-panel roof comes ONLY as part of the Premium package, and the wood interior is mandatory with the Premium package. As the double-panel roof cannot be added after the car is assembled, the car in the photo had probably had the interior wood trim replaced. We don't have a way of oredering a Maxima with the combination you saw.

To those that have the "Tech Package".

Has anyone had any issues with the Music Box?
Mine sometimes freezes when I am trying to navigate through the menu.
(It does unfreeze after a few seconds, but is still annoying none the less.)

Thanks in advance...

Folks,

Finally I got my super black/Prem/tech package. Its just 2 days old.Its awesome ride so far except for the bad weather. Getting really nervous on the weather part.

I have another question. I dont hear much music from from the rear speakers. even passanegrs from back seat tell me the same. Is anyone else feel the same way ?

I did check the balance and Fade and they are ok. Is it the way these sound system is set up. any comments ?

and the music from front are just mindblowing. Loving it.

if its set up like the 08... then the speakers behind your back seats are subs... so there will only be bass.

You really aren't supposed to hear much from the rear. The soundstage should be coming from the front. It would sound really bad if you could hear the rear speakers. Imagine going to a concert and hearing the music behind you. Most people keep the soundstage up front for better imaging. I installed my system into my 09. I replaced all the speakers with Boston Acoustics and I barely turn up the gain on the rear speakers. You should only be getting bass from the rear.

a car can be sold as brand new with 6000 miles on it if its never been titled...but once its been titled even if it only has 2 miles on it..its a used car..so no 300 miles couldnt pass for a new car as far as value is concerned..but to an individual it very well might do so..

O.k...I just got the Bose sound system set up in 09 Maxima...the center channel serves up the main speaker and all door speakers both front and back serves as "mids" and rear trunk areas are the "subs". This works cool and I dont see any problems with it.

The only disadvantage of this system is the passenger in back can hear mainstream music only from front dont feel much of a surround effect.

I think Hyundai genesis offers surround effect where you get the same feel of mainstream music all over the car..and never really know where is the source from. This is cool too.!!!

Has anyone removed the headlights yet? Someone is selling a pair of the HID lights (in the housings) for the 09 and I was thinking of swapping them out with my non HIDs. I quickly looked over the engine compartment and it almost looks as if you have to remove the quarter panels to get to the lights. Is that true?

Also, does anyone know if the HID lights will just plug into the non HID wiring harness?

Well, is not plug and play, but you can get your headlight retrofitted, and the results will be above the OEM projectors.

the e55 projectors Maxima OEM projectors are ok, but they are not the best.

Man, I feel the 2009 calling me...
I went by a dealership and did a walkaround...looks well appointed inside.

How's the ride like? I'm still having some residual nausea problems since my accident because of the headrest angle of my '07 323i and the jerky auto shifting.

It's really a great car. I'm sure there are better out there, but for 31-32k after haggling a bit I don't think you can go wrong. I have been in Chevy V8s for years and never thought I'd ever switch over to a Nissan but I LOVE IT.

Very nice car, Nissan did a fantastic job on the restyle. Whenever I see one on the road it instantly stands out as something special, nothing else even comes close to looking like it.

can you do this drag and drop in the car when your compact flash card is inserted?

Chrisedge thats a great car. Love the color and options. If I could go back and do it again I'd get the tech package as well. I know I wouldn't use it, but it would be a cool feature to have.

Now that's a car anyone would be proud to walk up to in a parking lot. Class, with an edge.

Does anyone know???

I don't want to have to pull the wheel and measure it myself.

Overall do you think the quality of the car is almost Infinty like? What about the craftsmanship since these are now being built in Tennesse instead of Japan? Any other thing you can think of that we should know good or bad? Oh and congrats on the purchase.

I started out the the Dark Slate Sport Package with Technology package and man I really hate the suspension. it is so hard and bumpy on the road. it transfer all the noise and the bump to the cabinet. I have it for less than 30 minutes and took it right back to the dealer and swap it out with a Precision Grey Premium Package and man it feels much better with the premium version.
