Nissan's fiscal year has more to do with internal operations than with external marketing. Since the Maxima was introduced last summer, I think it'll take one year for any significant factory incentives to arrive. Unless something like a new sales campaign starts, I plan to wait until June to see what pricing becomes...

I also understand that Nissan uses a high quality oil (esther oil) from the factory. Do you think it would be wise to change out that oil well before the 3750 recommended change?

Yeah, i read about the esther oil. Sounds like a marketing ploy to me though. I read elsewhere that regular 5w-30 and later chaning to synthetic oil works just fine. I'll probably just wait until roughly 3k miles and then take it in. I negotiated one free oil change as well, so I can get one more oil change then its up to me. From there, (it will be roughly 6k), I;ll start changing it myself using synthetic 5w-30. I used synthetic 90% of the time with my 2000 Pathfinder and it lasted 109k with 0 issues. I truly believe in synthetic oil.

oils and leases and inventory

The ester oil apparently is recommended due to the VVT system. The ester components have an affinity for metal and cling to it long after conventional oil has departed... as in the engine being off for a couple days. Almost a magnetic effect if I understand it...so after 10k mileson dino, I plan to use a synthetic along with Auto RX which is an ester additive that is inexpensive in maintenance doses. That should cover all bases.

Notice the lease offer has gone down to 329.00 a month and the residual is also lower on the base S model. As far as I can tell, only 3 Maximas have been sold in a 100 mile radius in the last 5 weeks leaving 260 in stock. Those who waited may get a deal about July-September!

From what I read in the manual ... 5w30 is acceptable, but they strongly recommend to not use Ester additives as it could damage components as it's not 'their' formulation. The manuals are available for download ...

I plan on switching to synthetic and call it done.

I bought my 2009 Maxima SV Premium Package for 33,000 on Feb. 25th. It has a spoiler, is super black and is very sharp. I cannot believe that this is my car now. I love it!

MSRP was $37,355 - I got the Floor+Trunk Mats, spoiler, splash guards, and Premium Package.

Here's my story...

I just purchased my car 3 days ago. The MSRP on was $39,905. I walked in and offered them $35,000 O.T.D. After about 30 mins of bargaining, I walked out paying $35,375.

There are more features in that car then one person needs...God I love it!

Total agreement on that. I'm waiting until Summer '09. Two local dealers were guessing at July 4th promotions. A new Maxima under invoice with factory rebate, dove-tailed with an under-3% finance rate... that's my plan. I am not comfortable with Nissan's current financing.

Now if the snow would only melt so I could wash/wax my '03 and get the rims back on. This is a crappy time of year to get a new car itch.

Hey everybody...new to this site/forum. Currently have an '06 maxima and am thinking about getting the 7th gen. Was wondering if anybody here is leasing their new maxima...and what they're paying monthly.

Called the dealership last week and told them I wanted SV-Sport Package-Technology Package and they said they couldn't give me a quote over the phone. After a few minutes of discussing, they finally told me that it would be in the low $500s - sign and drive (about $1000 down). I think this is a little too expensive for this car.

Let me know what you think...thanks.

Was that your out-the-door price? Or just for the car?

Just the car. Tax and tags in MD is 1506, transfer is 217. MD tire recycling fee is 4.00. There was a trade-in and money down so my literal out the door price was much less. But you can add those fees to get the delivered price of 34,723. So it might be a bit more.

MSRP - $37350
Car Price I Paid - $32070
Out the Door - $33550

Wow, I think so too! You got the same options as mine plus the spoiler and paid about $800 less. But I did get to drive mine almost two months earlier, so I'm happy. Enjoy your new Maxima.

Just curious, in what part of the country did you buy it?
Never mind... I just saw your post in another thread that said NC.

Around $6,425 below invoice! Adam - Please remove your post before dkmura sees it and decides it is time to jump head-first off Pikes Peak (he lives in Denver, and has not been able to approach this good a deal after months of trying).

Your post will also bother several of your Canadian counterparts, who had great difficulty last fall getting any kind of deal remotely near invoice.

But before you delete your post . . . ;<) . . . clue us in on your interior and exterior colors, and any thoughts you have so far about your new ride.

What province do you live in? What was the price before taxes and fees that you negotiated on the vehicle. As stated before it's hard to get a judgement on price when you throw in all the different tax rates.

Curious to see what you're getting on base price as I'm close to getting my Max.

09 Pricing

Over the internet I was able to get any Maxima in the lot at a local dealer (outside philly) for $1k under invoice. I'm still shopping
Has anyone heard if Nissian will be coming out with any purchase incentives in the near future?
One other question regarding the car. I'm am looking at the SV w/ Premium. With this package the sunroof is replace with the dual moon roofs, do either of them open at all?

Price Paid

Hey Guys,

I am new to the Forum but not new to the maxima. I just signed the docs and picking my new max up on tuesday. I got a black on black, SV, Sport and Tech Package, OTD price of $34,717 that includes 6% state sales tax, registration charges, as well as my last two lease payments on my 2006 FX35. I loved this car after test driving everything. I had a 20th Anniversary Edition in '01 and was hands down the best car I have owned. Hope this helps any one in their purchase.

With the Premium Package and the moonroofs, only the front one opens. The back on is a stationary glass panel.

They were able to give me a break, bc I put the deposit and offer in on Feb 28th before they even had the car. Nissan was offering dealers a retro bonus program if they met a specific target. They listed my car sold in Feb to get that bonus from Nissan thats why i had alot of wiggle room on the price

I actually bought the Manager's Demo, which had 10,000kms on it, and I knew the manager took good care of it so I went for it. Thats how they knocked off a big chunk out of the price. I live in B.C and the price before taxes was $34,000. I didn't have to pay frieght and PDI!

As for the exterior/interior...I got it in Pearl satin white ext and Premium charcoal leather int. Absolutely beautiful vehicle, the more I look at it the better it gets, and I haven't seen one on the road yet! Truly is a head turner.

Will post pics shortly!

Adam,

That's a great deal! I just finalized the pricing on my car from the dealer. I'm also in BC and it was a factory order, it's on the train in Jasper right now!

2009 Satin White Maxima Premium w/ Navigation and Spoiler - $41,500

I'm so excited it should be here next week I think. I have a very good dealer and I'm very excited to be doing business with them!

Haha, I live in Burnaby and haven't been to Langley in a while...but I'm surprised you've seen one already. I have yet to see one on the road. When does yours arrive?

Unlike the vast majority here, I just bought a Radiant Silver SV with no premium or sport package. MSRP was $33065 and after a trade-in for my 2002 Altima with 150k miles, got my new Max for $25077 before taxes, title, etc. Thought I got a pretty good deal, but they made me pay $400 to add the spoiler. Seems to be twice as much as most paid on here! Still a very happy camper though!

In the Raleigh area I had seen like 2 or 3 in a 6 month period before I bought mine. I swear ever since I have seen at least 1 per day - the actual day I bought mine, I saw 5 on the road!! Still LOVE it though!!

I'm starting to see a few more on the road too. I am still waiting a little bit. In the middle of refinancing the house to take advantage of the better rates. Once that is over I will be on the prowl. And hopefully there will be some deals to have in April. My target date to have one is by the end of April.

Based on that MSRP it looks like you got a SV with Sport, Technology, Mats and splashguards. Where'd you get it thats a good price.
