MSRP of EX35: $38,675
Sale price after $5,500 cashback: $30,000
Trade in for my Maxima: $28,000
My buyout price on the Maxima is about $32,700. So, I am losing $4,700. If I continue on my lease, I will be losing something close to that. The EX35 has comparable hp and torque to the Maxima but gets much less mpg. Also, even though it feels more luxurious and better quality, it has less equipment than my Maxima SV with Premium package. But most importantly, the EX35 is a 2008 model, so it is already one year old. Also, my fuel expenses and insurance will go up. After thinking a lot, I walked away.
The 2009 BMW 528i (and also many other BMWs) is having nice incentives -- $2,500 cashback + 0.9% apr for upto 60 months + first two months' payments will be made by BMW. I could haggle down a base 528i with MSRP $46,325 to $41,000 after the $2,500 cashback. But they were only offering $24,500 for my trade which was too less. So I had to walk away. I have to mention that, even though the 528i drives and handles better than any car I have ever driven, its interior is very mediocre. The cup holders are very cheap and it had leatherette (of course I could upgrade to leather for more money). I could not justify paying $41k for that car when I can get a car like a fully-loaded 09 Maxima for about $36k or even less now.
I am not sure how much a Nissan dealer would give me. Will try that soon.
One of my friends who used to work at a Nissan dealership told me that Nissan often (not always) offers some incentives to customers coming out of a lease so that they purchase or lease another Nissan/Infiniti vehicle. I am hoping I get something like that which will compensate for some of my losses.

I contacted quite a few Infiniti dealers and a few BMW dealers. The 2008 Infiniti EX35 (the 2009 model is not out yet) is having nice incentives -- $5000 cashback (or 0% apr for upto 36 months or 0.9% apr for upto 72 months) + $500 cashback. I love the interior of the EX35; that is how every car's interior should be! After a lot of haggling, this is what I could manage:

I am new here. Hoping to pull the trigger on a new maxima soon. I have an initial offer from a dealer of 31,775 for a SV with prem package. If they can give me what I need on a trade I hope to make a deal soon. Lets hope!
Hey all! New to this forum, but can't wait to get educated on the 2009 Maxima. I bought one on Saturday. Here is the deal I got:
SV/Prem/Nav/Spoiler/Splash guards/floor & trunk mat
MSRP: $39,575
Cost: $500 under invoice ($34,449)
Rebate: $1,250
I also got 20" chrome wheels/tires and tint for no extra charge.
Basically, I got a car worth about $42,275 for $33,199. I think that is a great deal! Any thoughts?
I live in Tulsa, OK and there are 3 Nissan dealerships here.

Here in Canada I got my 09 Max with Sport Package for just under $22k USD with everything on the table. Traded in my 300zx for $2500
I also had $13k down. It worked out to being just under $35k USD I believe before everything (Might be a little off with conversion). $342/month with $6000 left over after 60 months.

Pulled the trigger tonight. SV plus Premium, mats and flaps. 31,775 + TTL. Of course right after I get an email from another dealer I had been trying to reach undercutting that by $900
Would it be bad of me to ask for 1/2 that? I have not taken delivery yet just put down deposit.

Spoke with a dealer Friday. The end of month actually is today due to the fact that it ended on Sunday. If your dealer is in a "program" and needs to hit their next level for cars sold & delivered, yes today would be the day to do so.
I should also mention, the numbers we were talking were $33,600 for a SV Prem/Tech before holdback. Invoice was around $35,900. I was hit on the interstate two weeks ago at high speed from behind and they may be totaling my "baby". That was what drove me to look (no pun intended).

As general info, the Saturday and Sunday editions of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution have a half-page ad by Sutherland Nissan, in which they have four new '09 Maximas for sale at $23,888 each. That is not my dealer, so, knowing little about them, I can only say Sutherland has been a Nissan dealer for maybe two(?) decades, and is a very large dealership.
The SV is a lot of car for the money. Adding leather, fog lights, LED turn signals on the outside mirrors, digital Bose, Homelink, digital compass, adjustable thigh extension and power lumbar to the S make the SV a very 'driver-friendly' vehicle.
WHATS UP FELLAS,
PICKED UP 09 SV WITH SPORT + TECH TODAY. AFTER TTT, EXTENDED WARRANTY 6 YEARS 100K WHICH COVERS EVERYTHING, MAINTENANCE PACKAGE 50% OFF (FOR OUR EXPENSIVE *** OIL CHANGES) , PAID $33K ALL SAID AND DONE. DROVE THE CAR ALL AFTERNOON, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT

I picked up a brand new SV Sport+Tech pkg for 34,700 (sticker pushing $39k) out the door. Some of the prices y'all are paying seem unbelievable, WOW!!! I only say because, I was trying to buy a used SV with 11k miles that a fella traded-in while we were on a test drive, and they wouldn't take less than $30,200 for it.
Was this for a brand new car without a trade in? If so, please share where you've been finding deals (dealership name and city). I'm in the market, also in Chicagoland, and have yet to find anybody making any deals beyond the factory financing or rebate of $1,250. I really don't care where I buy the car from as long as it's new and from a Nissan dealer.
To everyone else, please help us all out by at least mentioning what city/state you're getting your deals in. This would help immensely in trying to figure out what's a "normal" price in that area. A dealership name would also be helpful and would help people know what to expect as far as price cuts are concerned.
It might also help to know who you dealt with (i.e. fleet Mgr, internet sales mgr, sales mgr, etc) and what process you went through to negotiate the price (.i.e. email, fax, phone, visit to dealership). This is the part that a lot of people simply don't know how to work through.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your numbers and experiences.

My 95' Maxima GLE is now really on its last leg (wouldn't start AGAIN tonight) so we went to look at the Maxima's this evening and bought one.
Got an SV Premium Tech with splash guards, mats, paint protection (free), full interior scotchguard (free), 100K 5yr warranty (with $50 deduct at cost), free lifetime powertrain warranty (with $100 deduct after 100K), which was MSRP right over 40K for 35K out the door (including TTL). This was with no trade in as my car is worthless anyway (barely runs). Oh, we did get special pricing through my wifes work (below invoice), plus 4.9 APR AND the $1,250 rebate too (Yes, you read that right - both of the current offerings). Went to Gerald Nissan in North Aurora (ask for Tammer).
BTW, it was a GREAT buying experience with ZERO pressure. This is saying a lot from a guy that would have normally prefferred to just buy a whole car from a vending machine full of new keys that takes credit cards. I normally hate buying cars and this was just awesome. Walked in at 7:30pm and left around 9:30pm (they even stayed late to finish the deal).
Just a little something else. I'm sure I got the family hook up here as this is the dealership where my neighbor works and we've been talking about my getting a new Maxima for quite a while. Also, this was a car that was already on the lot.

Just bought an SV Premium + Tech, Dark Slate/Caffe with spoiler, mats, splash guards, tint and clear bra for $31,956 + Tax. Invoice was $35,974. The dealer had to trailer it in from Norman, OK. Got $5,500 for our 2000 Maxima GLE, 3.7% financing, and the $1,250 incentive. An incredible deal at South Colorado Springs Nissan.
Got me an SV with bluetooth, floor mats, xenon headlights, and the tech package 3 weeks ago in Fayetteville, NC. Sticker price was listed at $35,965 but I paid $30,898 minus the $1250 incentive. After TTL, I drove off the lot for $30,860.
Wow, you guys are getting some good prices. I am in the market for a new car due to a recent accident and I was wondering if anyone has approached Nissan with the C.A.R.S. gov't voucher program? (http://www.cars.gov/)
http://www.nissanusa.com/car-allowan...16176758&dcn=1
Also, It looks like they are now giving up to $1750 Cash Allowance in conjunction with the C.A.R.S. rebate. The cars that are traded in are to be destroyed so they are taken off the road.
Just curious if anyone has mentioned this to the dealer or gone through this program. I'd be tempted to buy a used gas guzzler for $500-1000 if I can get $4500 off a 09 Max.. with the cash allowance.

Bought mines aswell @ Nissan Of Manhattan
Guys was trying to stiff me with a $36,000 tech package, when I refused after 2 hours of haggling, I walked out...They called me 2 days later and offered me $35k for the Sports tech package, I said no......1 week later they called me and offered $34,000 which caught my attention.
I went back in and they wanted $3k down, I refused...I told them that I wanted to pay only tax, license etc but nothing towards the car meaning no down payment, they refused...I walked away again.
The next day they called me and said ok, ok no money down your payment will be $550 I said hell no!!...I want to be at $300 per month, thy put me on hold and said $350, I still refused they said ok $310 I thought about it and went back to them again, mind you I live in NJ (15 mins away which equals 30 minutes on the lincoln tunnel traffic and already almost $30 in Ezpass money gone to waste and gas...I told them this is the last time I am going there to negociate.
They were honest with the last offer so I took the Dark Slate Tech Package 09 Maxima
If you guys know how to haggle then fight the price, I did all I could as I knew what my credit score was when I went to the dealer it was 740 and they were offering me a bad deal the first time around, guys / girls know your credit score before haggling with a dealer as at first they will tell u everything is cool, but when u go to the finance mgr he will check your score and I knew what mines was and I had the haggling power.
I just added 20' chrome rims I will post the picture soon on that thread
