It is a 2011 that I got new as the sales managers demo. He stated that he had never triedt he remotes when he drove the car. It makes sense because I went 5 days before I just wanted to make sure I locked the car and tried the key. Every other time I am right there and use the handle. I tried both keys and neither of them work.

If the batteries in your fobs were getting weak (or dead), you would get a display telling you that on your dash every time you started the car. So your situation almost has to be the shipping/storage setup. The dealer should handle that fairly quickly, and should give you an apology and something like a free oil change for your trouble.

I just wanted to follow up with everyone and let them know the fix. It turns out that my car was in "storage" mode. This is used when the car is first built so that is has a little draw on the battery as possible during transport and storage. It took them all of 5 seconds to get it out of storage mode. You simply hold down the turn signal and wiper stalks at the same time for a few seconds and viola it is in normal mode. My car now keeps the settings for heat and radio as when it was last turned off. Before I had to turn the climate control and radio on every time.

So I am a recently joining member, but have been slowly looking over the site now for the past month. I have tried alot of things with my 11 S model but they have never worked, damn internet sites lying about things. What i need is an HID kit for heads and fogs, plus a good sit to by fogs from since the S model does not come with fogs. I feel the car would look complete since i have the SV spoiler installed I just need fogs, and then a good 6k hid kit for both. Any help would be much appreciated, im tired of cheap websites.

Vleds for hid kits. As for OEM fogs, try eBay or courtesy Nissan part. Com

Thank you, already ordered the h11 6k kit from their, as for fogs would i need to buy another h11 kit or could i just change those bulbs?

http://www.dashzracing.com/09-11-nis...nm10-f-sm.html

i came across these fogs that have an option of adding H11 6k HID to them before the order...would these fit my 11, because i had bought previous Fogs that were "supposed" to fit and didn't, i dont wanna go through that trouble again. Also would these HID match the headlights?

My buddy calls it the "kick plate", when given throttle it pushes the plate and gives full power for whatever speed you are at. Like an automatic car that downshifts for maximum power. Then again...he does a lot of drugs.

with the navi on my 2011 maxima, can you have a split screen showing half nav and half radio, like the channel info and artist/song info? my motherinlaws jeep does this i like how you can view all the info and have the map up at the same time, rather than our map with just the ch#. hopefully im just missing something.

I too wish the display would list both the Artist and Song Title in the lower part of the map screen. The best you can get is by pushing "Status" to display the song info at the top and route info on the bottom. Then again, that will only work if you have a destination provided.

Hey guys new here,

Bought on the 31st 32k miles, $24ishk plus negative added for impala.
09 Maxima, Leather, sunroof, heated seats and stearing wheel, bluetooth, non nav, non bose. I think its an SV. does have red stiching tho!. How do I know if its sport? And can some one verify it is SV? Sorry its been a long time since I jumped back into the Nissans. Ive been on the G37 boards way to long

Mods (planned at least.)

1st. Led and HID upgrades. (1/2 way complete 1/1/12)
2nd. Redo tint and add Bats overlays. Maybe black roof.
3rd. Idk, Vossens or RennForged.
4th, Akenbo BBK, just for looks (i think they will fit, might be 1st ever???)

Sport has silver stitching, spoiler, 19s and no wood grain. Sv has leather and fog lights I believe.

sounds like it. i think the easiest way to tell is if it has wood. the 19s could've been added.

For those of you with Navigation, how often does NAVTEQ update maps? My 2011 Max's maps are seriously behind yet the NAVTEQ website continues to tell me I have the latest maps. I mean in the area where I live, it is 5 years behind on some of the streets. So far, I'm really dissapointed in the navigation package. I have little trust in it. With the Garmin I use in my other car, I get 4 map updates a year and have a lot more faith in it than the built in navi on the Max. Other opinions? Comments?

Unless they have changed recently, I believe NAVTEQ only releases a new version around once a year. I updated my nav around 18 months ago, and still do not have some subdivisions near me that had their streets in place in 2006. Yes, I found that a little disappointing.

At 32K miles, no matter what oil may currently be in your car, you can jump to any kind of good oil your heart may desire. If you can get Mobile1 for free, grab it. Your car will love it.

Color theme:

Select the “Display” key, then select the “Color
Theme” key. The Color Theme select screen will
appear.

Select the key for the desired color. The appear-
ance of the background, arrows and bars will
change for all screens accordingly. You can
choose a black, blue or red color theme.

This is correct once a year at the end and/or the beginning of the year.

FYI no matter what car brand anyone desire if they use NAVTEQ its all the same whether its a AMG E63 or a Prius...

Windshield Washer

Been signed up for a bit, need some help. My son drove his 2011 in this weekend, windshield washers worked fine. He got ready to leave the other morning and mentioned his washers quit working. I filled up the reservoir, but it still did not work. He assures me he never put straight water into the tank. It is now warmer out and it still does not work.

Any thoughts? It there a fuse on this? Is pump under the tank or somewhere else?

Thanks

It's interesting that the Maxima and Garmin updates both come from NAVTEQ, yet the Maxima maps are so far behind.

power steering force

Hi,
I have a 2011 Max with 11000 miles on it. I have a question about the additional force required to steer at highway speeds. It borders on actually being tiring to make the usual little steering corrections needed while driving. It is especially annoying when driving long distances. I understand there is a REDUCED power assist at faster speed (the faster you go the less assist). Is it possible to electrically disconnect this so called benefit?? If so what would be the downside? I have had it to the dealer and he said he can't find anything wrong.

thanks for any help.

One time this happened to me in a parking lot, I took off the battery wires and placed them back on and tightened them up and it started right up, also, your battery may just be dead and able to power up the basics, this happened when my first battery went out, not sure but thats what I would try to go with.
