Wire fog lights

I just bought a 2011 S model, which doesn't come standard with fog lights. Since I actually need fog lights (mountain driving), I ordered the factory kit from Courtesy and installed them a couple of weeks ago. The installation was very straight-forward and easy, by the way.
It was very surprising to me that the fog lights are not switched to operate independent of the headlights (!). Anyone who actually drives in fog understands that flash-back reflection from the headlights is exactly what you don't want.
The factory light kit fits perfectly and works beautifully...but.... Yep, I need that same headlights OFF switch.

Both the headlights and fogs run H11 style plugs that plug into the actual bulb... If u take the ones plugged into the head lights and swap them with the ones plugged into the fogs and vise versa... So the fogs run off the headlight switch and the headlights run off the fog light switch...

The Fog light kit comes with the lights and a new set of column levers. The lever and switch assembly is prewired and preassembeled. The true fix is in that left-hand lever/switch. I might dissect the original (non-fog) lever and see just how hard it would be to make the change and reassemble it without destroying it.
Who uses the headlights without the fogs? That doesnt seem to be a big problem... I ALWAYS have my fogs on with my headlights, and most people driving around I see seem to always have their fogs on with the headlights.
If Nissan werent ******** and wired them up like damn near every other auto manufacturer we wouldnt have to try to jimmy rig something...

I am getting HID kits soon. I will let you know. I do not know if they are long enough stock, but if they arent I would tend to bet that you can buy extensions for H11 plugs (I havent searched)
Searched:

Or you can just snip and extend the stock wires...

Being able to control one's f'ing lights seems like a modest request for $32K+ (otherwise, I love the car - it's phenomenal).
this is exactly what i did...i have 09 S and put hid kits in lows and fogs...the ballasts are mounted right next to each other so i just switched the plugs and bammm....fogs turn on with low beams and low beams turn on when i turn the fog light switch on
u can always switch it back whenever u want
only a temporary solution until my warranty is up in september/october this year
