This is Weird.

Ok so I have had my 2009 Maxima SV-S for 3 months now and I have come to a conclusion.

Ok let me back track, I have been looking for the Badge that all cars have that is supposed to be Located in the Door Jabs. This badge has the VIN, Color Code, Orgin details etc. I have not found it on any of the Door Jams and that led me to worry.

Being as I work at a dealership, I want a CarFax. Came back clean. Ran an autochech, same thing.

So I got Curious, its not uncommon for cars to be in accidents and never be reported. We have had cars come in with clean Carfaxes, Titles, Autochecks ect. that we find out have frame damage, airbags with out seals, unaligned body panels, off color and so on.

Basicly if its never filed with insurance or a police report, no paper trail right?

Ok so I had the guys in the Service shop put my car on the rack. Then I went down the street to the Nissan Dealer and Pulled the exact same car off there lot ( we are rival dealerships by the way ) and put it on the rack next to mine.

I spent 2 hours inspecting it and looking to see if anything was off. Nothing. All the frame indicators are spot on. Color matches all panels, no body parts are misaligned.

It checks out.

So why am I missing the badge? The Badge that is usually riveted in or glue to kingdom come?

Could Nissan had forgotten it? Did the Inspector at the end of the Assembly line miss it? Did the previous owner some how take it off?

I cant be 100% it was never in a crash but i haven't seen a body shop bring a car back to life so good that it matches with a new car. Considering that it would of had to have been a side impact.

Its no big deal now but when I go to trade it in, I might be asked why its not there and it could be something that later bites me in the ****. Any one know a place to get a replacement?

Its just weird.

eljoker - The sticker or ID plate you are looking for is not in the door jamb or the center console or the glovebox. It is on the outside bottom of the 'B' pillar between the front and rear doors on the driver's side of the car, just above the quarter panel. It has the VIN, color code, etc.

Not there man, O well. This Maxima is either going to be one of two things. The car I pay off and keep for a DD when I get my G37 IPL 6-speed. Or the Car that I trade in for a g37xs coupe.
