Stalling...
Stalling...
Hey, this is my first post on the forums, but I've been visiting for a while...
So, my 2011 Maxima stalled today, and I had to get towed back to the dealership.
I got my oil changed at the dealership yesterday. I was driving home from there when I noticed it was idling a little rough. I didn't think much of it, and I put gas... About 10 miles later, my "Service Engine Soon" light came on, and I thought it was just the stupid gas cap again. I drove to and from work this morning, and it was still idling rough and the light was still on. Wanting to make sure it wasn't a not tightened gas cap, I decided to disconnect the negative terminal on my battery, so the light would go off... After about 30 minutes, I turned the car back on... It was still rough idling, and the "Service Engine Soon" light went back on... I decided to take it back the dealership. I was on the freeway for about five miles... As I came to slowed traffic the idling got really rough and the car stalled. I could turn on the car, but it would stall immediately after.
My car has 41,000 miles on it, but I have an extended warranty... I'm a little nervous that it might be the throttle body, and I don't think that's covered... I haven't had any issues with my car since I bought it, and it was running fine before my oil change. The dealership is supposed to get back to me on what the problem might be tomorrow, and I just want to be prepared if they try to stick me with the bill... Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks guys

Hmm, it could possibly be the TPS, it could have just failed but I find it unlikely, it does seem fishy though that it started to run rough after your oil change at the dealer. Keep us posted on what they say!
If its related to the oil change it may be a botched oil filter install. If it isn't sealing right you may be loosing oil pressure. Otherwise the problem could be completely unrelated to the oil change. Rough idle and stalling can be caused by a ton of things so no point in guessing. Either way, when the dealer pulls the codes they will know. Check back in when they tell you what the problem is, and maybe we can help you get an idea on how hard a DIY fix would be, if they try to reach into your pockets.
Did you check the oil levels yourself? If they put too much oil, that could cause stalling. They could have accidentally disconnected hoses/lines or forgot to put them back on.
I doubt it's the TPS, but it could likely be another sensor. They'll have to run a full diagnostic to check I suppose.
Did you notice anything that may have came loose? Cables, hoses, spark plug connections, etc. MAF cable came loose from them opening the airbox perhaps? If you've got an OBD-II or know someone that has one and will let you use it, give it a shot, see what code it's throwing.
Anyway, keep us updated. Hopefully it's nothing sketchy and not a bane to your wallet.

Was this resolved
I to just had an oil change on my 2010 maxima with 56k miles. All was fine till the oil change and then next day idled rough and would not go anywhere. I let site for 5 min then it was ok to get me home. This happened yesterday. Today on the way to work it started to run rough. No lights though, No Check Engine. I brought to service station for diag and waiting. Any ideas would be appreciated.
