2010 white sv maxima

Picked up my maxima December 31st. From the New York area. It had 64k when I took it home. Growing up I had a 96 maxima as my first car and later on a 2002 maxima both automatic.

Since then I’ve had a 2002 sentra spec v with a vq35 swap. Stock internals but full bolt-ons stage 3 cams upgraded throttle body Jim wolf valve springs and retainers, 8k rev limiter, 3in exhaust, nwp block-off plate, stage 2 jim wolf clutch and flywheel. The thing had so much torque it broke 3 sets of axles. It was lowered on springs.

After that headache I eventually moved onto my project car that I have these days a 2006 spec v full bolt-ons with a fully built motor, eagle rods, weisco pistons, forged and sleeved block, titanium valve springs and retainers from Jim wolf for 8500 rev limiter, c1 cams, 09 spec v intake manifold, balance shaft removal, Cosmetic head gasket, 2.5 in 2j racing exhaust also tuned on uprev like the first Vq sentra I had. Gt28rs turbo. Motor was over built to handle 700whp and I plan on running 400whp on the little turbo for instant spool. It’s sitting on some k sport coil overs with 235 squared stance. Motor was only built last summer.

The maxima will be my daily while I break in and tune my turbo QR spec V. I sold my 2008 Evo X that I had since 2015. I picked up my evo with 49k and when I sold it this past December I had about 133k on it. So it was time for a new daily. I was looking for cheaper insurance, cheaper monthly payments, and better gas mileage then a FBO AWD Evo X. So the maxima was my first choice since Wifey wanted something automatic and told me her 6 speed 2017 Mustang GT was staying I had to let my evo go

Right now my plans for the maxima are just a y pipe, pulley, and intake. Since picking it up I’ve vinyl wrapped the roof, did a chrome delete, and changed the grill. Motor to come. I plasti dipped the rims and sprayed a Gloss clear coat over them however they need to be redone already since they are peeling. I think I rushed it too quick or should of put even more coats then I did on them.

Picks of after the chrome delete and roof wrap. Since these pictures I have gotten rid of the white tooth behind the aftermarket grill already. It’s all black like the grill now. I have the underdrive pulley already I’m just waiting on the intake and y pipe before I do everything all at once. Hoping doing all 3 together will make a noticeable difference. I also have the sarona eyelids I’m waiting for warmer weather to paint.

Intake was probably a waste of money. On a evo, those would’ve made a difference,on the maxima it won’t. Pulley is debatable.

That being said, car is clean. Any interior pics?

I haven’t bought the intake yet. Was looking at the r2c intake. I’ve searched the forums and read up that they seem to help. I know on a boosted car like my evo when forced induction is introduced intakes make much more power then NA. That’s exactly why on wifeys Gt I haven’t bought an intake. Just an exhaust. I’ll get a whipped before I buy an intake for the mustang.

I can take interior pictures soon but yeah it’s the black leather interior(sv so obviously leather I know). But the interior is great. No rips or tears anywhere. Very clean for a 10 year old car. I didn’t get a great deal but I didn’t get terrible ripped off either. Paid 95 for the car with sales tax registration everything included. Dealership handled it all.

You know better than anyone, if you're not tuning, bolt-ons are a lost cause. And actually, detrimental, as the stock ECU is not programmed for the changes you've made. Now if it were your daddy's '70 Chevelle SS 396, that's a different story.

yeah I planed on going to Nissan and getting the timing advanced since I have a friend at the dealership who would do this for me. I also planned on getting an uprev tune since there’s a dyno only 15 mins from my house actually. I just know how much a pain our cvt can be to actually tune with not being able to keep it in a single gear

Yeah, how DO you tune a CVT? Always wondered that.
