Console width

Can't believe this hasn't been covered, but a search turned up nothing.

I'm eyeing the Maxima closely as my next car, and I sat in one for awhile yesterday at the Dallas Auto Show. I was a little surprised to see how wide the console is in the driver's knee area! in fact, I had to rest my leg against it and it also forced my leg to the left more than I'm used to.

The last car I had that was somewhat similar was an Infiniti M45, and having my leg constantly against the console made it burn and sting after driving for awhile. I ended up having to use a folded washcloth as a pad to isolate my knee from the console.

Is anyone having issues with this crazy wide console?

I an 5ft 11 and have no problem with the console.
I have found a very confortable driving position
by using the power seat adjusters along with the
Power Tilt and telescoping steering column

Im 6.1 and yes I too felt the same when i took the car for a test drive. But after a few seat adjustments you should be fine. Your knee may still touch the side a bit...but you will get used to it and wont feel a thing after a while.

Its an awesome car....go for it!

Thanks, Doc. I thought I had seen something about it (and I even commented in that thread!), but I couldn't find it.

I'm looking at several different cars and can't remember what I've posted where. Old age, I guess.
