Some questions
Some questions
Hello Everyone,
So i have read so many threads on LED,HID,H11 VS H16,Moisture with his bulb vs no moisture with this one. So i will try to ask these questions and hopefully everyone and anyone who has done something similar can chime in with some answers.
1. I am trying to switch my fogs lights to LED, is there one bulb out there that has not caused an moisture issues? if so , what kind (manufacture, h11 or h16)?
if not, can anyone say which brand has given them the least amount of moisture?
Does H11 or H16 really matter in concern about moisture build up in the fogs(some people people say the tabs are different or angle different)
2. I am trying to figure out which HIDS i am going to install, if i go with the Morimoto elite can i select the bulb itself or do i have to go with the bulb that come with the kit or do i have to buy separately?
Does the bulb manufacture help as far as clarity of the light or color, warm up time? (i dont want to cheapen the car lights with cheap looking hids)
3. For the people that have installed HIDS, do you see the brightness you were looking for vs the LED?
If there are links to these items, could you post a link please
I have read many threads and they can go all over the place with information, i just wanted to get some simple information, in one place, any help is greatly appreciated

1. I had moisture issues with the JDM ASTAR led bulbs on Amazon. I ordered these: http://www.xenondepot.com/H16-LED-fo...h16-led-hl.htm and never again had moisture issues and the light output from them are fantastic, but they are pricey and one bulb on the passenger side was a huge pain in the *** to get in.
The main difference between H11 and H16 is the current draw. The tabs are exactly the same. H16 bulbs are a little smaller than H11 and typically require less wattage to operate.
2. I'm using this HID kit: http://www.xenondepot.com/H11-HID-Ki...D-p/xt-h11.htm 5000k kit. I ordered it three years ago for my Camry then switched them over to the Maxima (both take H11) and they are still running like new and I love the color/brightness. They take a couple of seconds to warm up so you'll see more blue when it first comes on then fade to a bright white (depending on what temperature kit you get)
3. You get a lot more distance with HIDs over LEDs, brightness and color could be the same depending on the kit, but I don't know of any LEDs that will give you the same lighting distance as an HID kit.

Someone had mentioned using the JDM ones but switching out the gasket with the original ones. That may have been the issue with moisture. I would also stick with the recommended bulb wattage for safety. For HIDs, Ive used Kensun but most recently tried Innovited. I think I paid around $30. For mounting use the heavy duty 3m hook and loop.. Its pretty much the same stuff as the ez pass mounts use. Both have held up well the last 3 years. Be sure to choose an ac kit. Here is a good article on ac vs dc hid kits. http://www.ebay.com/gds/Whats-the-Difference-Between-AC-and-DC-Conversion-Kits-/10000000178258846/g.html
