K-Sport Coilovers Talk
^^Thank you^^ And what is your ride height? (fender -> ground?)
Also, in regards to your question about looking to be low. If your preload is fine(little to none) and youre ride height is ok, then you're good. I guess it really varies from car to car and even strut to strut.

This new search is very good for searching threads so yea...
I was wondering if anyone has had trouble with the K sport springs shifting and popping when turning...its annoying because everytime I turn right It will like lock that way and will make the car pull to the right. Anyone know an idea other than tightening the perches to help it...

Wow. I was going to post this same question today. I got pissed off at it coming home at the noise and 'mis-alignment'...
So when I got home, I did the following: [White Lithium] Greased Rubber on top and bottom of spring. Hammer tight all collars(dont forget black lower one!). Tighten upper nut in the engine bay(the center one that secures the strut body).
Still some clicking, but not nearly as much.

The noise I dont really care about its the locking and pulling part that is annoying. I will try that if it is ever over 35 degrees here.
Come on, be a man!
You could try simply putting some grease on it(on the springs/rubber). Shorter time being outside. I dont know if it will help much though. I cant think of any other way to feasibly make them stop moving without tightening them.

the last time i tuned mine, the collars ALWAYS CAME LOOSE! i don't know why but it was like the 2nd or 3rd that it had happened. i know i tightened good but they still came loose.
i still get mild popping noises but don't care cause those are prob just the strut bolts....

Ok so I braved the cold and have tightened everything up on both sides and it is not popping as much but everytime I move the wheel to the right it will then pull to the right until I turn the wheel left. I dont get it. On the driver side the bottom collar was a little loose but the strange this is that it was moving with the shaft. I loosed everything up and sprayed in some wd40 to clean it up and then tightened everything until I couldnt feel my hands. But to no avail it still pulled to the right after turning right.
any other ideas...maybe the bottom bolts are a little loose?

I cant figure it out...If I cant figure this out then I am going back to stock and then figure out what new setup I would want. These things really arent as great as I first thought...
Well I really want them to work well. I thought the wintry weather might have had been a cause but you live in Florida and are having the same problem...
Right now I am thinking lower mounting bolts.
Oh and I had AGXs and Sprints first and the ride quality sucked so I want some thing that is softer yet will still give good handling.

Just wondering did you guys get those new spring perches .. Would those help your guys situation ?
my perches always get lose as well .. I havent installed the new ones i gotten but (knock on wood) i havent blown any of them .
Warranty still available on your guys struts?

MY problem isnt that the perches become loose. Actually my driver side was so tight it was spinning the whole threaded part when I tried to loosed one up. Im starting to think that the pulling might be somehow caused by the lower mounts.
Im gonna email K sport and see what they say...

Well I got an email back from K sport and they think either I have to much preload or the spring washers are either torn or really dirty...well I am going to try reducing the preload I have on them first and go from there.
I bought mine back in june, but in november I raised my car for winter and that is when it started...I most likely put to much preload on them and will be lessening that in the near future...

Update...
Well I reduced the preload to just where the springs are tight but dont move much...they was a lot of preload on them. Also cleaned up the spring washers and such. I was satisfied that it was fixed until I took a test drive. Still pops and still pulls to the right.
Stock here I come...again.

Technically they did but since I messed with them prior to winter I put a lot of preload on them...backed it pretty much all the way down but it didnt fix it....I am tired of messing with these things...
Time to throw a
. I fixed my clicking(temporarily and hopefully for a while).
My right front was the one giving me the issue. I took it off the car and removed the following parts from the coilover:
Lower black collar
Orange mount
Lower Orange collar
Upper Orange Collar
Lower Spring perch
Spring
Rubber/Plastic perches
Upper nut
Camber plate
Pillow Ball mount
1. I cleaned the threaded body very well
2. Soaked the collars/perches/mounts in Simple Green and removed any loose dirt/grease.
3. Cleaned the pillow ball mount bearings, used white lithium grease on the top and bottom of the ball mount.
4. Used Wd-40 to remove rust in the threads on the camber plate alan bolts.
5. Reassembled, and tightened everything while it was off the car(more efficient tightening)
I have a video of how easy the camber plate/pillow ball spun, I will have to get that later.
I have driven about 90 miles on them(I know, not much yet), but have been over speed bumps, through 3 parking garages and more parking lots. No clicking yet.

Change your name mazzivart? Anyhow, No, no spring popping. The lithium grease took car of that. My alignment is off now, so I pull left, but if I got it aligned, there would be no pulling, as it doesnt pop and adjust itself around a turn.
However, I wouldnt call this a total victory yet, who knows how long it will last? I am hoping for quite a while.

Yea so the pillow mount was the culprit? Just wondering because I am going to clean my K sports after I get my stock stuff on...Dont want to sell them dirty...
I just have to say... I've had these for a while now... THEY SUCK. Don't waste your money on them. You will hate them eventually. I sooooooo regret buying these. If I had nothing better to do... I'd find a way to start a class action lawsuit on ksport.
I've had a love hate relationship with mine. Right now they are like 2 years old and I think another one (or maybe more) just blew out. I'd like suspension to be something I can put on a car and not worry about replacing every 15 thousand miles. I've got enough trouble keeping tires on my car as it is.
Can someone point me towards the products that are performance-oriented and therefore have the longevity, quality superior to that of stock equipment?
I wont even sell these because I dont want to put this problem on someone else...
You know what kills me is that when these first came out people were hyping the sh*t out of these. Like a stupid noob I jumped right on the bandwagon and got me a set. I dont even know what direction to go next when I upgrade..but I have learned to take what I read online with a grain of salt.

just realized this is the 2000th post.
