Heard JWT cams in a VQ35 last night...
I met up with PhnxBlu and it sounded mellow at idle...not lumpy at all. I can't comment on mid/top-end sound, since he just rev'd it a bit in neutral.
He has PR CAI, HS headers, Budget bpipe, Cattman rear section(older style I think), and a custom TechnoSquare reflash for cams to smooth the idle/hicuping issues.
Very healthy sounding HOT car.....

So is it ok to idle around 600 rpm with JWT cams? I heard 900 rpm is the ideal idle. I tried adjusting the idle, but no matter what I do, the idle doesn't change. It stays around 600-650 rpm.

No, it ran bad, not sure how, until TS reflashed it a couple times in person.
The idle didn't sound raised extremely high, but I didn't visually notice on the tach what RPM it was set at. I asked PhnxBlu what TS changed and he didn't know. He just said it was having driveability issues and that the TS reflash fixed it nicely, however supposedly it dropped his peak power a bit, maybe 10whp.

I already know how to do it. Didn't work for me.

That's what I was going to tackle next. Hopefully that will do it.

My car idles nicely at 750. Before the reflash I had severe hesitation until 4000 rpm no matter what gear I was in. I dont know how they fixed that, maybe they toyed with the timing?? My only real prob now is the lack of power until 3500 rpm, the most gutless 4 bangers outthere could prolly smoke me off the line.

Time for VTC pulleys, however TS needs to figure out how to reflash the cam angle vs. load tables stored in the ECU.

Also, JWT has tuning capabilities on the VQ35s, so hopefully soon they will figure out how to optimize the CVTC to work with their cams <4000rpm or better the Nismo VTCs and their cams.
Hopefully, now that their VQ35 TT Z/G kit is hitting the market at SEMA, they'll start releasing new ECU reflashes for the Z/G and 2K2+ Maxima owners can get some benefit.
