It wouldn't matter. The ignition system on one of the engines is actually extremely good and there would be no reason to upgrade it right now.

Yes they will fit/work with no problems.

They are designed for different spark plugs and have different place for it to bolt down so I would say no. I have never seen anything to say they are that much better. I would look at Splitfire coilpacks or KB Boost-a-Spark.

Have you confirmed this? Probably not.

There is at least one 3.0 using 3.5 coils with no problems. I forget who though. I hope they chime in to this thread.

Bad information is worse than no information at all. If you do not know something to be 100% accurate, then why post it. Misinformation does not help anyone.

Left to Right:...........vq30 right bank.................vq30 left bank.....................vq35

The vq35 coil pack will not even reach the plug in either left or right banks on a vq30

You can make the VQ35 ignition coils work by using the VQ35 valve covers, but then you'd have to change the cam brackets, too. And I doubt that the VQ35 coils are significantly better than the VQ30 coils.

You can get Toyota Sienna coils to work using alligator clips & duct tape (jury rigged so I could run to the auto parts store!) but if there is no performance gain why would you?

3.5 coilpacks cannot be used on 3.0 engines directly. modifications needed like stephen max mentioned. i was buying splitfire ignition coilpacks a couple of months ago, and they salesman in taiwan had to pound my ears off on the phone making sure that i'm getting the a32 coilpacks and not a33 coilpacks. he said they are different.

Yeah. Cycefiro was selling these and he had both 95-99 and 00-01.

Did ever get to dyno stock vs these?

hehehe, the deal is sour for now. me and stephen max are supposed to work on this together. but my car is in the mech shop far away from my apartment. i couldn't get to it to take them coils off. i'm getting a new engine put in because my old engine's got a bad head valve now. till then, i can't go to the post office either to ship the coils to stephen max. so we'll just have to wait it out again. but as soon as i get the car back, i'll take them off and send themt o stephen for him to work on the dyno's.
