Less work to use the 95-99/00-01 trannies with the 3.5, than a 2k2-2k6 tranny.

Damn junkyard jacking me. Ima have to call again tomorrow. If no go, then no swap and maybe no new engine . I'll just have to build a fast VQ30 auto.

5spd no doubt. you'd have some power, and a lot more fun driving your car

I'm on he same page as u Kevin...The only difference is, is that's i'm going to do everything at once. I'll buy all the parts separetly, also for $$$ issues. Then i'll install the 5spd and the vq35 at once. I don't feel like doing it twice. Then maybe 1 yr later i'll do an ecu for sure. When all that is done, i'm done with modding it and start enjoying it. If i don't sell in 4 to 5 yrs, i'll keep it as my summer toy

Displacement displacement displacement, you'll be much happier with a larger engine than with changin gears, and when the time comes you may want to mate the 6speed to the VQ35 still the option is yours you lucky dogg

If you're going to do both, do the tranny swap first. Seems like it would be a waste to beef the auto only to swap it out later.

Have you decided on which you're doing first yet? Are going with the EU or staying with the smt when you do the 3.5 swap?

Have fun blowing the doors off other cars with your vq35. The whole point of a 5 speed definitly the control, but also the amazing power response. With a 35 you'll have the power, and you'll eventually need to get a new tranny. Go for the motor. Super sleeper.

After what Jime pulled with auto, you gotta go with vq35, his time is faster than the times of 5spd's. Go auto!!!

then again, he was tuning with the greddy EU and has a very race oriented car, with lots of weight reduction. The 3.5 swap is relatively new in the maxima world, no one's harnessed the full power of the swap and tuning on a 5spd.
