The jumper settings will be the same.

The parameter settings are setup through the software on your laptop.

1) set up jumpers.
2) plug in EU using the PnP harness
3) setup laptop/USB interface and change parameters

It's all in the Dandy EU writeup.

I want to fix every kinks and start the car N/A, once the car run ok then I'm going to plug-in EU and work this out, I have Dandy's write-up and hopefully my computer skills can help dealing with problems as they come, cuz I'm sure they will.

I'd say there is another 30-40 hrs of work before I can try to start it, but at least I know that will come sooner or later. I'm very busy with my businesses and home renovation. This is a hobby and must come second as family goes first, any how I believe I will have more time to work on the car in nov/dec I'm really anxious to see it run, but at the same time I want make sure everything is done properly.

Cheers

Hey guys, I have finished the battery box frame and cabling. I have torqued a bunch of bolts so I'd say I have half of that aspect that is done. I'm ordering the following today:
Tranny cooler, oil cooler, overflow tank and P/S oil tank, the hoses for the cooler are done and ready to be plug in the cooler once I have it. Tonight I'm going to fix the rack & pinion boot which I forgot to tight prior to the engine installation, I will try to finish the gauges cabling. I have also sketched the exhaust piping, it is now just a matter of cutting & welding. I have yet to figure out some sort of heat shield for the muffler but I think I will use 1/8" diamond plate this way everything will look good but also protect some part from the exhaust heat. I'm slowly getting there, my goal to start the engine in november is very possible, I'm crossing my finger until I'm ready to crank her up.

Sorry to not have responded faster, but thanks for the info, I'm ordering the Nismo FPR type B. It seem that my car will only be finish in 2011 the house renovation is really demanding and fairly complex to achieve. I have appointed a contractor to come over and help me finish the work cuz at that speed my car would be finished in a year. All my week-end since the last 2 months has been spent working on the house. My friend Louis who has help me a lot with the car has started building a new house 3 months ago and has moved 100 km away so I haven't see him for a while. Hopefully thing will fall out into place in 2011, the house renovation should be completed sometime in January. I will be traveling to Las-Vegas and Mexico in January and once I'm back I will spend most of my free time finishing the car and make it ready for spring 2011.

Ironically I'm officially in burn out... Went to the doctor yesterday and the pain I've been suffered lately is related to my state of hyper-vigilance wich prevent me from sleeping. The good new is I'm in good physical health, but very tired. I was told to stay away from the office for the next month and spend my daily time relaxing, training and doing stuff that I like. I'm certainly going to spend few hours in the garage since this is my preferred hobby but also spending good time with the loved one and daily nap.

Hey guys, I'm back form the dead so to speak. I have started to work on the car but the daily headache & migraine only allow me to work few things for a short period of time, but still I enjoy every bit of it. Now back to the car, I know there is a bracket that hold the Auto shifter cable to the water pipe ( driver side of the engine ) but I cant seem to remember which one, If anyone has a pics that would be greatly appreciate. Otherwise I'll search the FSM but I can hardly spend more than 10 minutes on the computer before migraine hit me so that's why I asked.

Cheers

Getting close to D day, I fixed a bunch of small things here and there this week, I might ba able to finish the torquing session this week-end, once this is done I have 3 bracket to install, a plug to install to block the oil feed for the S/C ( that will be install later once the engine is break-in ) Yesterday I installed the heat shield for the right muffler, and need to remove to broken screw in the middle of the car so I can finish to install the heat shield where the b pipe is. Once this is all done then I need to put all the fluids in the engine and tranny plug the battery and hope the engine start. I will first try to start it without the EU and see what happend. My overall experience is telling me that there is a good chance that it wont start at first since there might be bad ground ( since I just thought about it while I'm writing this, I will perhaps find a good spot on the car a make a big ground to the engine and tranny before I even try to crank her up) I expect I might have few leaks with the brake line but let see what happend. I'm shooting for end of next week. I'll keep you posted.

Might crank her this wee-end. Today I'm finishing the battery rack in the trunk I want it to be very secure in case I get rear ended, I'll post some pics later. I have put the engine, tranny and brake oil, I need to get some power steering oil and engine coolant later today.

I have bought some exhaust wrap because there is a painted part that is very close to it and I'm afraid the paint might melt, I went underneath the car but I cant put the wrap the car is not jacked up high enough and the jack are already at the maximum height. Friday one of my friend who's a mechanic is going to come over and help for few hours. I'm going to put the wheel on the car and see if we can get the car on the ramps, that would give me more space underneath so I can wrap the rear exhaust. The exhaust heat shield have been installed, there was 5 or 6 broken bolts that I had to drill, once done I re-tap the holes and put SS bolt. Yesterday I picked up a 4' x 4' x 1/8" sheet of diamond plate aluminum so I can make heat shield for the dual muffler set-up in the back. If you remember the rear wheel well was cut, the hole was closed with metal sheet and I framed the rear end with 1" metal tubing that was weld to the car chassis, underneath the car, now I want to cover that area with the aluminum, so the trunk content doesn't catch on fire. I think it's going to take 2 days to do that, so we might be able to crank her friday but i think it's going to be very tight cus we have a good torquing session for friday afternoon. Got to go back to work now. Stay tune for pics later tonight. Cheers

I'm back from a week of vacation in Cuba, what a nice week it was. A gift from my wife for my 50th birthday. I dont know if this is politically correct to say that, but man I love the Cubains, they are so nice with us. It's my 3rd trip up there and I'm sure I'll go back sooner or later.

I'm going to work on the car this week and advance as much as I can, I hope to crank it asap.

BTW, I have started to sleep complete night recently, I had forgotten how good it was to sleep.

I want to finish this project so bad now so I can enjoy my 4 years of hard works but who know what happen. I'm going to work on the car wednesday thru friday all days, so after that I should be very close, but every time I think I'm close to finish I'm not, so it's very hard to evaluate the time it will take to finish. I dont expect the engine to fire up on the first crank, there is going to be some problems and I expect that to happen.

Yesterday I was trying to figure out what can go wrong, there is couple of things that came to my mind first. The worst would be the engine or tranny that would need to be taken out but I hope not.

1-Gas line ( I had a hard time to connect it on the gas tank + I switch the stocker gas pump for a wallbro )
2- Brake lines, since most where no longer available I had to fabricate custom line and at some point there was a leak on the ABS actuator.
3-The main harness had to be cut in order to paint the engine bay, I was very cautious where soldering the wires so let see.
4-Vacuum leaks
5-Sensors, relays etc

I just bought a much better camera a Canon PowerShot SX30 IS, wich take awesome pics compare to my i-phone or the small canon crap I took most of the pics with. I will later take some fresh pics and post later today. I think it's going to better represent the result of all this work. Stay tune.

Thanks to all the org members who followed the project, this has been my source of encouragement so far.

I'm just excited to see it done and for you to enjoy it. However, this sounds like it has been a labor of love for you.

When you cut the engine harness, did you use electrical tape or shrink wrap tubing to insulate the connections?

I used 2 layers of shrink wrap tubing for each wire, and once all the wire were done I used electrical tape to stick them together and the external envelope was taped and I use wire loom to finish it. The car is not going to be drive when wet anyway.

That sounds more than sufficient. It doesn't surprise me after reading this thread though. You are very thorough. I would think it would be find even if it did get wet. It probably isn't submerisible, but I would bet its water resistant.

I think it should be fine. I now need to make my mind on a welder, I'm thinking of a Tig welder but the unit I can afford doesn't weld aluminum. Miller has the Mig pack 180 that can weld pretty much everything including alu & SS just need to get a Co2 tank, but that mean spark all over the place and my garage is quite packed so I'm afraid of fire hazard.

Canadian Tire will have a special in june on the Mig Pack 180, it will be available for 599$ cdn but the TIG is available at 750$. It's hard sometime to make up your mind.Lol

I bought the Lincoln 180T mig from Lowes. It will weld Al with a spool gun, but it's a tapped transformer and not continuous voltage (CV). I've read the CV models like the Lincoln Pro Mig 180C are better (more voltage adjustment, voltage doesn't drop off as more current flows). I've haven't tried to weld any Al yet so I cannot comment on it's effectiveness. If I were to buy another welder, I would look for one with CV and not a tapped one.

This is the product I'm looking for:
http://www.everlastwelders.ca/produc...ils.php?id=312

It's a multi process unit, meaning Tig welding, Arc welding and Plasma cutter, after reading I found out it can weld aluminum but also AC aluminum. I will mostly weld SS, Metal sheet and 1/8 diamond plate aluminum. What I like about TIG it is doesn't make spark when nyou weld, so it is very convenient for my tight space but it require a bottle of Argon which is another 200$
