VQ35 swap; Verify cam timing.

When I did my swap a few years ago, I had someone drill the VQ35 cams for me so I could install the VQ30 gears on it.

Is there a way to verify that was done correctly?? I am wondering if that could be related to the issues I am having..

The stuff I have seen for cam timing being off is misfires and hard start up.

But your car runs smooth sometimes correct?

Starts easy, and can run smooth..

Of course another unknown is my flywheel CPS ring. Because it is a custom flywheel (so I can attach the Porsche clutch), the ring was welded on.. Who knows if that is accurate? I have considered hooking an oscilloscope to the front and rear sensors simultaneously to see if they are correct. However, I have no reference as to what it "should be".

Friend has an I30, maybe I can borrow his car to test it.

I had this thought because the behavior I am trying to fix seems familiar to me, and I am thinking it may be timing related.

There are short intervals of time where the engine seems to be running better, but I have no idea what corrections the ECU may be making?? Just because it runs OK sometimes does not mean one of those physical things are accurate.
