Hey sorry about taking so long getting back to you. It's from DEI model 551T. I guess you can go to www.dei.com. The number on the back of the owner's manual is (800) 274-0200. Hope that helps.

Later.

Uh oh.... I have a remote starter on my 2002 SE Max and I bought and installed DEI 555U for the OEM key bypass. I notice that you have a 2001 and that might be the reason it's different. I'm not really sure.

I was thinking of just adding a shock and audio/glass sensor to my current oem alarm. Would this be ok instead of getting a whole new alarm system. Would appreciate your comments.

As far as Buying online or "over the counter" there will be NO warranty. DEI reserves the rights to have the Viper line sold Installed Only and any reputable shop will abide by these terms, or otherwise lose the line and possible face charges.

Viper 791xv and Clifford Matrix RS3.5 are the same except for name and appearance. Just like the older 790xv and RS3.

Yes it is possible to do on Manual trannys, I have done it and it works fine. Just goes against what DEI allows me to do.

Any other questions/concerns? Feel free to ask me.

I got the Autopage 650 and love it. Had it installed where i bought it and they made it work with my factory alarm. Didn't have to lose a key either. Alarm & install about $350. Would highly recommend the stereo shop to you but I'm way down here in Bama. But the alarm.... But in case you want some info or have questions about the install the name is Audio X Inc. in Muscle Shoals, Al. (256) 383-6150.And they install these on 5 speeds as well.

There is nothing to do to make it work with the factory keyless. It is part of the install. You didnt lose a key because you have a '95. Only '99s and up have the chip.

[QUOTE=AE SEoulchild]I have the DEI remote starter and it works great with two clicks of my unlock button on my OEM remote. It DOES NOT reach a 1/2 mile!! Nor does it reach a 1/4 mile. I paced it off and got about 175 paces max. I estimate that to be about 525 ft. or less than 1/8 of a mile. [QUOTE]

You have limited range because you are using the factory remote. You are not using in anyway DEIs remote/antenna/etc.. Your range will also (unfortunately) get worse over time, it always does on factory keyless systems. Its not Nissan or the installer of your product, just generally the way they are.

Most dealerships do offer an alarm and or remote start start option, but it is still an aftermarket piece. They are installed either in house or subcontracted to a local shop.
