Show Us Whats In Your Trunk...
Just finished up a slot-ported box for my Pioneer Premiere 12" sub and Kenwood amp. Gonna install all the wiring once my knukonceptz wiring comes in along with my order from Partsexpress.

Also installed my new Pioneer Premiere DEH-P580MP CD/MP3 player.

I'm gonna run the 4 gauge KnuKonceptz cable from the battery, under the car and use a grommet to get it into the trunk. From there I'll use a P3 dual-fuse distribution block to run 8 gauge cable to the amp. Why a dual-fuse distribution block and 4 gauge main power cable you may ask? Well, I'll planning on getting a 4-channel amp to power Infinity Reference 6-1/2" components up front and a pair of Infinity Reference 5-1/4" coaxials in the rear. Signal will be sent via KnuKonceptz RCA interconnects under the carpet to the trunk. Hopefully I will also be getting some Elemental Designs eDead v4 and put some of that on the floor, doors, fender wells and trunk surfaces.
BTW... I got my parts in from Partsexpress today. I should be getting my KnuKonceptz cables in on Thursday and get it all buttoned up on Friday.

What AscendantMax mean is that how are you going to run the wires from the sub to the amp and keep things neat and tidy?

yeah, that's what i meant hehe, sorry for being too vague. the terminals for the amp is right next to your sub. so i was wondering how you'll have your sub wired up to it and what not, while keeping the install clean like it is now.
I'm on the same page as you.
I have the same type of enclosure and the amp is in the back right where the arm rest cut out is for cooling. Not really into showing off my amp, it only invites the bad elements around.

The amp is going to be elevated from the box by rubber spacers. Terminals for the speaker will be located under the amp. This keeps the installation looking clean. All the power and RCAs will be wrapped in Techflex and ran along the bottom edge of the box. I've made several round ported and sealed sub boxes before, but this is my first slot-ported box.
BTW, anyone need a ported sub box for two 12" subs? Internal volume is 1.25 cu.ft. per chamber and port tuned to 27hz. Constructed with 3/4" MDF and is painted white inside. The outside of the box is unpainted. I've had this box sitting in my closet for a few years now and I just need to get rid of it. :P

2 cu.ft. internal with the slot port tuned to 31hz. Simple design really.
I once made a 6 cu.ft. box that took up the whole back seat of my old '91 Q45. It was tuned high at 45hz as it made as an SPL box. Using the same 12" Pioneer Premiere sub and Kenwood amp I am using now, it got freaking crazy loud. People couldn't beleive it was only one 12" Pioneer sub running only 300watts.
I just recently pulled this sub and amp out of retirement (aka: the closet) and decided to toss them in my 'Max.

Well today I got my KnuKonceptz wiring kit via UPS. I'm loving the blue and white pearl colored power cables. Got this kit off of KnuKonceptz ebay store for $22. Not too shabby!

Puuuuuurdy colors.

Tommorow should be fun.

Here's my system as of now. Pioneer DVH-P5000MP, Phoenix Gold QX900.1D, 2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2's in ~1 cubic foot fiberglass enclosures, and 2 6" Starvision monitors. I built a budget I.C.E. system for my 2000 Altima, but when it was totaled I pulled everything out. Since everything was just laying in the garage, I installed some of it in my 2006 Maxima. Still sitting in the garage are a JL Audio 300/4, crappy JL components and coax's, Infinity Kappa 3 1/4"s, an old Alpine amp, a 6.4" monitor, and a DEQ-P7000 5.1 Channel digital audio processor. Most of the system will be upgraded in the future, but for now it'll do. I'm not going to install the 300/4 until I get new speakers, maybe some SLC's =). As for the processor, I probably won't install it until I upgrade to a Pioneer double-din, which will free up the space where my monitor is currently for a nice center channel. Oh, and one more thing, yes I know the monitors are kinda small and cheap, but hey, they WERE in the headrests of a 2000 Altima, hahaha.

Yeah, just a little while back, hahaha. But yeah, E-40's from Vallejo, so i gotta represent. What part of SD you from? I have fam near Mt. Carmel, might head down there this summer. With the system you have, I'd love to hear what it sounds like.

Good ole Valley-Joe...

I live near Bonita in Paradise Hills. Send me a PM when you head down here and you can take a listen.
I got everything installed last Friday but for some reason I didn't post pics today. Hmm...could it be I was havin too much fun rattlin my brains out? Install was a little tougher than I originally anticipated. I knew nothing about the wiring of the car or where the vehicles signal lines ran. Plus the carpet in it is just annoying as hell to run wires under. Anyways, it sounds great for a little 12" sub eating up 300watts RMS.

That's a clean setup Jeff. Knu Koncepts FTW, I've got a box full of their goodies. I've got a laundry list of shiet to do on my setup. I would love to hear your setup, we should get together sometime.
I decided to install my amp while waiting for my Rainbows. I ended up mounting it on the bottom of the rear deck so I don't lose any trunk space. I used some sheet metal screws and mounted the board on the parts that drop down into the truck, The screws are just long enough that they sit in the recesses of the deck and don't disturb the cover thats inside the car.

here's what it looks like from outside, I relocated the trunk light further back so I could fit the amp in there.

A side shot. I ordered some knukonceptz RCAs and they appear to be good quality, plus they're fairly cheap too.

Wow, haven't been in this thread in quite a while. I used to be very into sound and ICE. Since then I've gone to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I don't keep too much junk in my trunk anymore.

, that was from a little while back....

wish I still had the sone of a b!tch.
