Look up Second Skin, Fat Mat, Rammmat, Q-Pads (auto parts store), and Jiffy Seal from home depot.

All are much cheaper and work just as well.

There are about a million material and all have qualities that make them good for certain aspects of sound damping and absorption. There is no "one" material that may be applied to every surface with optimal results.

No, I prefer the truth. It's something salesmen and marketing fools are afraid of. Honesty in advertising hurts sales. The best products are never mentioned on any of the car audio forums because they take too much time to explain.

Thats kind of what I was hopeing for

I acutally bought a 100 sq/ft of fatmat off of ebay for $119.98 shipped. It included more extra's than b-quiet for the same price so I went with it. I won't need to double layer anything will I? I bought 100 sq/ft so I can do mine and a friends car, I owe him so I was hoping we could do both. He only wants to do his trunk and trunk lid. I wanna do the doors, trunk, trink lid & rear deck. Anyone have any advice on that?

Don,
Are you saying fatmat is crap, if so that sucks I already ordered it but I could sell back on ebay I guess and get something better, at least I haven't put it on the car yet. What about b-quiet or do you only support dynamat.

Holy **** that stuff is expensive. $119 for 15.6 sq/ft to do a trunk. I can't afford that stuff. I paid less for a 100 sp/ft. I have a hard time believing that stuff is 6 times better than the others in relations to price.

I used around 150 sq.ft.of Fatmat to deaden my 3rd gen last winter(all 4 doors inner/outer,rear quarters, trunk floor and decklid).I found out how well it sticks recently when I had to change out a window regulator on the drivers door.On some spots I had to literally chisel it off the inner panel using a hammer and chisel.

I guess the most important aspect of installing any sound deadener is to make sure the surface is clean before you apply it.

I've never used any other product, but I'm satisfied with Fatmat(so far).

I know this may sound like a dumb question but when installing the sound deadning stuff, how to you install around the wiring harnesses in the doors, trunk etc. I am assuming I would not want to cover them up just in case I needed to get to something, but at the same time it is going to be time consuming cutting out for every single wiring harness?

I started installing the fatmat this weekend and it sucks. I should have paid someone to do this part. I find myself covering up my holes where screws go and where clips would go so I feel like I will have some left over screws
I hope this is worth it

DO NOT get the industrial stuff at Home Depot. I read one guy who did that because it was so much cheaper but he found out 2 major things:

- it weighed much more, car felt heavier after done
- it stank up the car in the summer heat

Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
