Anyone install a viper 791?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone's installed this before. Just picked it up off of ebay for $200. I have a 00' Max. If possible I would like to save the $200+ installation fee, and try to do it myself. Anyone know if I'll need any diodes or relays to do this? Thanks.

Ive installed a few...hundred. Relays and diodes would depend on the year of your max.

Just be careful when installing it as you already have no warranty.

Most things are nice to install yourself, but an alarm with remote start may be a little advanced for someone that has not done this before. I would highly recommend you get it installed professionally. You will need a module to do remote start, and you will need to give up a key.

Don, have you installed one in a 2000 Max GXE? Is it tricky?

I thouhgt there were some write ups of how to install a basic alarm I dont know anything about alarms, but you could do a search and go over the schematic. Thats if you want to do it your self, if not yea it be better getting it done profesionally. because if you have warranty, say bye bye with a aftermarket alarm. I had a bad experience with my new suburban. Got hit by lighting, burned antenna and alarm, dealer didnt want to fix it because of the aftermarket alarm I had installed a week before. SO be very careful.
good luck.

Yes Ive done quite a few. It is the simpliest of all the Maximas. 2000 and 2001 doorlock wires are available within the car instead of having to go into the doors.

Aftermarket alarms do not void warranties. Unless the product itself is a direct cause. OR the manufacturer is willing to give you the same product installed into your vehicle free of charge.
