experiances with power loads on type r 12's

so i just got the first of my 2 type r's bumping since i got my first of 2 amps. im running 460 watts rms to the speaker and let me say that it sounds awsome, but as we all know they are meant for 300 rms, what has everyone fed them and their experiances at that level, neone blow them? if you did what was the power range they where getting?

my friend had 1 type r 12 off 600 watts rms and he blew it a few times but got it replaced for free. i convinced him to get another and now he has 2 12's with 300 going to each and he gained alot of spl and hasnt had any problems with the subs at all.
whats the internal cuft of the box and i hope you set gains right with all the power.

well im running probly about 4 to them with the amps turned down and i keep the remote bass control on 0 though when flipped to +6db (the first jump followed by +9 and finally +12) it makes a load of differnce, thats when the bass really comes alive

is that remote bass control connected to the amp or are you talking about something in the h/u?

if your really paranoid about it try this... put it up to the highest volume you will play it at with the car on and pop the trunk and look and listen the sub. if you hear any popping or cracking lower the gains. or if you hear anything that just doesnt sound right lower them.
