Ever since I installed my second amp I've heard alternator whine and engine noise in my speakers. The power cables and RCAs are all on the same side, I could rerun them, but I'd rather not tear my car apart again.

I've already installed a ground loop isolator on my front set of RCA, which is where I hear the whine. That works sometimes, but I'm wondering if there are other noise filters that might work? or ideas you may have.

thanks

If you're running a LOT of current, then it could possibly be your battery that is inducing the whine. After installing a 1850 Watt RMS system into my car, there was an annoying whine which was cured after I replaced my stock battery with an Optima Yellow. The factory battery isn't exactly the most robust.

Run your power wire on one side of the car and your rcas
on the other and dump your noise isolator...

Behind the dash make sure you dont have any bunched wires or RCAs. I had a big cluster and when I separated the wires, (a much as possible) I lost the whine.

I had the same problem after I installed a second amp but it wasn't my wiring it was actually the amp. The RCA inputs were not soldered in properly and it was sucking engine noise. And also try turning your gains down and see if that helps. That could be the problem. This is just my experience.

This is just my experience.

Do you mean unbunle RCAs and wires from each other, or unbundle power wires from each other? i've got HELL to pay if that's the case... ;p

The RCAs cause most of the whine, but while you're at it, it wouldnt hurt to untangle as much as possible.
