put some nice 6.5s up front. retrofitting 6x9s isn't worth the time and money IMO.

I think the only thing you could do worse would be adding 4X6 or 5X7s.....

not on the 3rd gen at least. the sheet metal need to be cut so it'll clear the long basket on those 6x9s. it's not worth it IMO.

simply put, we don't think the results will be worth all the effort put into the modification.

^^^What are you trying to achieve? More midbass? If so then yeah sure why not. However 8s are more of a cool factor IMO...If your not a crazy audiophile like some of the members here than just add some high quality 6.5 comps and call it a day.

If you have factory bose it's really easy to fit SOME 6x9's in a 3rd gen. Just cut the factory bose plastic enclosure to fit a 6x9 and call it a day. I've done it in the past and it actually sounds pretty decent.

If your gonna be modding your doors for bigger woofers you might as well go all the way, 8's are bigger

there's no replacement for displacement

There seriously is absolu***ly no reason to put 6x9's in your front doors. C'mon now stick with 6.5's. There are more than enough guys here who can recommend a set of 6.5's that will blow you away. Definetly not worth ruining door panel.

You guys need to be clear with him lol, he obviously doesn't know the details of it all. 8's would NOT be a subwoofer, just incase you go out and buy a 8" speaker, and it may be sold to you as a "woofer" but really it's a sub.

When they are saying a 8", they mean a midbass 8", and then have a midrange and a tweeter. That would make a nice front stage, as far as my understanding is. When I say front stage, that's what audiophiles call "front speakers" heh

Hope that helped...
