Has anyone gotten ahold of the new 1.4 navi update disk. It is supposedly for all AVN's including the new one that's out.

I have the AVN2454 (I think it's the very first one) and have been frustrated from day one that the backup camera has no auto feature like the new one's did. The 2454 will not turn the camera on when shifted into reverse. It has to be manually turned on everytime. That's just ignorant.

Well I got the new disk thinking that it was just an update to the maps and I'm very pleased to say that it has updated the whole system so now my old AVN2454 has some feature's that the new ones have.

Along with updated maps, a few menu items and graphics have been changed. The auto/manual camera feature is great, now the camera comes on everytime I shift into reverse. I don't have to do anything to make it work. I now can change the boot up screen to what ever I want. I always hated that big blue eclipse screen everytime I turned the car on.

I have a few questions now.

Does anyone else have the update? If so, how can I change the normal background/wallpaper images to something other than the three that eclipse provides. I can change the start screen, but not backgrounds.

Also, it is 2006 and still no RDS. Is this a hardware feature or software???

My radio screen has changed also, what are the two buttons that are greyed out on my screen? (Title and Mode) how do I activate them?

I dont know how to use photoshop and really want a nice Infiniti logo to put as my start screen. Does anyone have one or know how to make one? All I have is the one in the pic.

My original nav disk is 1.0 and this new one is 1.4. What happened to .2 .3???

 

My AVN5500 came with 1.3 I think
Alot of things in my town arent on the map.

 

well this new one has a lot of different POI's that my original one didn't have. Also, lots of new icons for the poi's like quizno's, burger king, etc.

 

So you have it? Can you burn a copy of it?

 

I could, but what kinda dumb *** would I be to pay $400 for something and them copy it and give it away for free. lol

 

Just kidding, I would have been even more of a dumb *** if I would have actually paid $400 for this disk.

OK, here is the deal. I knew that if I posted that I had this disk, ppl would want a copy. I am all for making copies and spreading the wealth but I have to purchase a dual layer burner before I can copy it.

So with that said, it is not worth me buying a new burner and making a copy for one person.

Who else wants a copy?

I just recently purchased an AVN5435 for my 99 GLE. I will have it installed next week (Circuit City). Does anyone have any pics of a 99 with this unit? Are there any problems I should be aware of? I also got the Ipod controller (I know its limited, but they threw it in. Any help and pics would be great.
