Owners of Pioneer P-930 Head Unit

Hey all,
My display alternates between black background/green numbers/display then goes to green background and black numbers/display. Is this normal? I don't like it changing all the time. Do you know how to stop it from doing this?

If its what I think it is, the deck is in demo mode. I had a Pioneer 8000, the grandfather of the 930 and it had the same thing. On mine all you had to do was hold down the 5 or the 6 key(radio preset keys) for a few seconds and a beep would confrim. One of those cut the clock display on and the other toggled the demo on and off. See if this does the trick, if not get back to me and Ill do some research on it.

sounds like demo mode to me.

go here and register and download the manual from them directly and you should find out how to take it out of demo mode.

Its definitly not demo mode!! mine does the same thing, its just the way Pioneer designed their newer screens. But I hope there is a way to stop it from goin black-->green all the time. It gets kinda annoying. Ill call my rep and see what he says

My friend has a 9300 and his doesnt do that, but he's in a Pathfinder. I have a 9200 and I had a similar problem. On mine there's this tiny button in the lower right corner that only a pen tip or something small like that can fit in. It's the reset button I think, but that solved my problem.

Im about 90% sure that it is the demo mode. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it on my HU...why would Pioneer make it flash like that from green to black? I called Pioneer tech and they said its a demo mode that is designed to be used in stores where the deck is on all day everyday...helps protect the screen. Same concept as a screensaver on a PC. Look in your owner's manual or contact Pioneer for exact instructions on how to toggle the demo on and off.

Yep. I had Pioneer 9200 and it did that every few seconds, ****ed me off. My friends were curious if the display changed its color in relation to speed.
Then finally I found that small button and it was over.

I've got the DEH-P9300 and I was irritated with it when I first got it. I read the manual cover to cover several times trying to figure out how to change it and was ready to send the radio back. I called Pioneer and asked to speak to the tech department. The tech guy was really nice and said he gets 2 or 3 calls a day on this. He admitted the manual didn't do a very good job of explaining this and the radio is factory set in "reverse (demo) mode". To cancel it, make sure the ignition is on and the radio is off, then press button 5.
