2016 gen 8 maxima top speed limited?

Hey,anyone know if the top speed or rpm is limited by either milage or hours,i had mine out on the turnpike yesterday in maine,on some wide open road, and at 6000 rpm in top gear,it stayed there, till I chopped the throttle,it was at 134 on my gps and analog speedo was at 135 I did not check the digital speedo, car only has 780 miles on it,so maybe they pulltiming till it reaches 1,000 miles or so many hours.

Carmakers limit the speed due to the OEM tires that came on your car. Check the speed rating of your tire. My guess would be that your car came with H rated tires from factory.

@016 maxs all have V rated and the rs has w rated, the v is 149 and w 168 now I don't think there is any way any of the maxs are going to hit 150 mph stock, but maybe if somehow the ECU can be tricked?

The Maxima has done 130 something for many years. There has been very little improvement in performance since the 4th gen. Now with the CVT, Nissan is pulling throttle all over the map trying to save that POS they call a transmission.

So what is so bad with the newer CVT trans,as mine seems to work very good, all the 6 speed autos trans i have had and one i still haver all seem to hunt for the right gear as they gear down and than start back up to quick, with alot of banging and clunking noises,so far i have not had any more of that noise with this trans than any one of the 6 speed fords, chevy,or dodges, dont know about the german auto,or japan autos.

130mph is about all you're going to get to on a real racetrack anyway.
on a stock C7 you're not doing much more than 140 at NJ motosports park on the front straight anyway.

One of the car magazines got 142 MPH with the 95 maxima . So i am sure the newer ones are faster.
