Amsoil Power Foam: Any experience?

Anybody has used the Amsoil Power Foam? For those who have, what's your thought on the product?

The time to clean my TB is almost here....and I wanted to try this instead of the regular STP TB and Air Intake Cleaner.

How do you spray this stuff into the TB while the engine is running? When I clean my TB, it's with the engine off. Did you guys drill a small hole on the intake box and put the nozzle there?

Thanks!

AMSOIL Power Foam has been on the market for many years. It is a good product which, like Sea Foam, can be used for a variety of applications including cleaning of throttle plates, intake systems, pcv valves, etc. I have used it for these purposes and it works very effectively. As you probably know, Power Foam comes in an 18 ounce aerosol can which is very easy to administer into the intake manifold through the small vacuum port. I sell AMSOIL products and offer dealer cost pricing to our members...I have a post in the Group Deals Forum and recommend you take a look at that. My cost for a can of Power Foam is $3.35 ($4.55 retail)...prices plus shipping and sales tax IAW AMSOIL sales tax policy.

Concerning the procedure, remove the rubber air bellows and clean your throttle plate with the engine off. To clean the rest of the intake system, reinstall the bellows, etc, start the engine, remove the small vacuum hose on the top of the throttle body and spray the Power Foam (with the nozzle extender) while manipulating the throttle cable cam to keep the engine running. You will get a lot of smoke, etc while the power foam is working. Spray it in as fast as you can without stalling the engine, turn the engine off and let it sit for a while, then drive the car to blow out the carbon residue.

talking horse: Thank you for your reply. I already have the product in hand, but I was wondering about the small vacuum hose on the top of the throttle body.

Is the brake booster hose is the one you are talking about? I don't remember any small vacuum hose other than that one......unless you are talking that small tube extending from the accordeon section of the intake, where IAC hose connected to the intake.

Thank you!

I don't use the brake booster port as it's kind of large. I've seen some posts on here (with pictures) where folks have used this same location I'm talking about to administer seafoam...should be easy to locate. There's no need to drill any holes. Let us know how it works for you as another opinion would be good.

Did the treatment this weekend. Could not finish the whole can since it was running out of gas (fluid left in the can). Used one of the hose connected to manifold. As expected, flurry of white smoke and the engine started very rough in the first minute. After that, everything is good.

I don't feel difference in power delivery and I have no codes.
