as the title says,
im going to change the engine oil today got the oil filter from Nissan since i used the mobile 1 last time it was little bit smaller then the OEM so decided to go with OEM.. my cars kinda making clicking noise maybe the oil filter is the reason or oil weight? but i used mobile 1 5w-30 full synthetic and mobile 1 oil filter. car has 42000 miles on it. should i use 5w-30? full synthetic?

Go to the 7thgen section too and I think they have a thread on recommended oils for the VQ engine.

Besides, yes you should use 5w30 and go full synthetic if you wish. I went to full synthetic at 35000. M1EP 5w30 and M1EP filter. Then Amsoil 5w30 with EaO filter. Now, I am at 56000 and back to M1 EP oil and filter. Working great!

I use either mobil 1 5w30 or Amalie 5w30 synthetic and a good quality filter like a acdelco or oem nissan.........

 

Supertech Full Synthetic 5w20 and Fram or Supertech filters every 5K miles. After engine warranty period expires plan to extend to 8k mile changes. Our two Vettes and Malibu eat the same stuff.

 

I'm a fan of Mobil 1. Good quality oil and not so expensive.
