TSB Q

What does a TSB do for an owner of a car and will the dealership fix the problem for free or what?

A Technical Service Bullitin (TSB) is a notice to service technicians from the manufacturer regarding common complaints and how to fix them. This saves the dealerships diagnostic time which in turn also keeps costs down.

Some people seem to think presenting TSB's to their dealer means you get the work preformed automaticaly for free under warranty. Thats not true. If your car doesn't show signs of the problems relating to TSB's, nothing will be done "just because" the TSB was issued.

There ment to help technicians spot common problems with spicific customer complaints and also address the correct fix for it.

If a person has these problems, will the owner need to pay for them or is it done for free? Does the car still have to be under warranty?

If your car is under warranty your repair work is free. If your no longer under warranty you'll have to pay for repairs. Remember TSB's are not recalls. There just service notices for technicians.
