I've ridden in a prepped S2K around a road course... that was a fun time lemme tell ya.
If done right, they can move pretty well in the 1/4. I've seen 14.1s stock myself, and heard of high 13s and one claimed 13.66 from a well respected member of another board. That's the same guy who pulled 14.1 out of a stock CL-S.
Dave maybe you are thinking of the acceleration test they did when shifting at redline vs 5000 rpm? I remember it's 0-60 was 5.x at redline and something like 11.9 when shifting at 5000.

i owns an 02 s2k, and so far i have not lose any road race with any maxima driver here in north jersey...
don't get me worng..i sitll love my auto maxima....its just a family car.......or so call daily beater.......and thats also why i parted out all the parts and kits......but, we can still be friend rite...

everytime i get a little intimidated, i destroy a modded honda and feel better. but then i think theyre gutless, and i am matched. today i was matched by a would be ricer crx ON THE HIGHWAY. straight from 60 to 100. tell me that wasnt engine work.

HeLL YEAH!!! I was at a car show back in October and man with the stock airbox removed they have room to fit a damn 454 in there! I was surprised, their air box is ****ing HUGE!!! 1/3 the size of the engine bay

Just adding my .02 as I troll on through.
I own a completely stock S2000. First off, I'm the biggest race ***** you'll ever meet. I street race almost every weekend in the summer, as well as go to the track and run my S2k often. The worst I've ever gotten in my S2k was a 14.6.
I also ran a 14.6 in my S2k WITHOUT doing a clutch dump... in other words, just a roll out and floor it. No clutch dump, no clutch slipping, nothing.
It isn't hard to drive the S2k at all. I was hitting low low 14's my first time out, and was breaking consistent 13's my second time at the track. Also, I launch between 4500-6500rpm. I've NEVER launched over 6500rpm. It's not hard to drive an S2k. Rev to 5500... dump the clutch. Redline, shift, redline shift. Other than the rev to 5500 part, it's driven the same as any other car.
If you see someone running crappy times at the track, it's not so much the launch, but the fact that they are probably granny shifting, as well as short shifting each gear.

My 60' on my 14.0 flat times were 2.24 or so. Not the best, and I've certainly done better.
