Re: Re: Sick of getting tickets...
i wasn't planning on running the light, and wasn't planning on speeding, it just happaned. i used to be an agressive driver and never got tickets, and now, i drive slow and 3 tickets in 2 days...(3rd was really stupid and only warning)looks like everyone here obeys the law. u don't need maxima for easy driving...do u?
Dude, I know ur it sucks to get tickets but when a cop rides on ur A$$, then screw him pop on the cruise control 2mph under the limit to **** him off. Let him tail u all he wants just chill, thats all just a trick to get u to speed up (as u now know) and give him a reason to pull u over.
I have got 2 speeding tickets in a two week period a little while back. 19 and 21 over. That brings me to a total of 5 tickets in a years time. They are not all moving violtions. Before all this I went 2 years without a ticket.
I got a lawyer for these last two and it looks like he will be able to get me dual supervision.
You might want to look into getting some legal help. They might not be able to get them dismissed, but they can keep them from going on your record which helps with points and insurance costs.

If you were already doing 10 mph OVER the Speed Limit (60-65 in a 55), then he probably wasn't tailing you to pass you... he was tailing you because he was running your tag just before he pulled you over! Trust me.

you broke the law, you pay for it. it's as simple as that.
I drive aggressively, and I have a lot of bonehead (101 in a 60) tickets to show for it. do I complain about the cops? no. I shut up and pay the ticket, then go on with life.
If you can't afford the tickets, then you CAN afford to slow down a bit and pay more attention while driving. you probably wouldn't have run that red light had you not been speeding, eh?
that extra 15mph you're driving across town equates to about two minutes on an across-town trip. is two minutes worth hours of court time, several hundred bucks in insurance hikes, and a couple hundred more on the tickets alone?
pretty expensive two minutes, dontcha think?

Thats a pretty stupid thing to say, I mean any cop should simply just let you go under those circumstances, right?Perhaps a driving course would do you some good.
did the court day passed for all of them? If your record was OK before these tickets, may be the judge will go soft on you (or at least on the first one).
where I live if u get 1-2 tickets a year, there is a 70% chance that none of them will be on your record. (given that the tickets are not close together)
my advice is: go to court, see what u can do

Really?
you break the law, expect to pay for it. I do on a regular basis, and I pay for it on a regular basis. I'll freely admit that. Do I think I should take a driving course? no. I know how to drive properly, I just make a conscious choice not to.

There have been a lot of right-on comments in this thread, but Matt93se summed it up perfectly. If you speed, expect to get tickets. It's nobody's fault but yours. I continually fight my "speeding addiction" but unfortunately lose to the police from time to time. It's my fault and my fault only. On the bright side, here in Texas you are allowed to take one driver improvement course every per year. I've taken it once each of the past two years. I consider it a "speeding surcharge", or the cost of my addiction. The good thing is these tickets don't go onto my permanent record, I just have to pay the $40/60 or whatever it is to take the course. Not that I want to pay, but I CHOOSE to speed so that's the price I have to pay.
You have to live by the laws of the land. You can try as much as you can to justify whether you are right and the speed limit is wrong, etc, but in the end it makes NO DIFFERENCE. Doesn't matter how good of a driver you are or think you are, the law says everyone must obey certain driving rules. Laws are laws and you must obey them or else face the consequences. Technically, doing 56 in a 55 is speeding and you could get a ticket for it, but most officers would never ticket you for that because a judge could throw it out because of his/her discretion. There is no "built-in grey zone" for speeding laws...the reason why you don't get pulled over for most of your "grey zone" violations is due to officers' discretion, ie they are giving you a break.
