Some members are experiencing problems with the Hal's kit, but I don't have a big enough mouth to go all over the place and blab about it. When they feel comfortable discussing the issues/problems, they will post it.

and... did you not just say in the quote above, "PFI's kit" ? i'm sorry I do not agree with a company putting out a "buggy" (quote from turbo97se/nigel) kit under any circumstances. if they have a problem with him, do not sell to him. two wrongs make a right now?
regardless, when pfi sold a kit, it has their name on it, they made it, it is a representation of their work and quality.

Bugs happen... and admitting they exist and they will be fixed is the right choice.

It exists and you can get there if you know the name... it's just not linked from anywhere on the site. Hehehe

it started off as Ice asking me questions about installing a turbo timer.. then he started asking kev questions in the same thread

-Several years ago, people were like "Carbon fiber who" "Carbon fiber what" now carbon fiber more readily available to the public, not just the Honda/Acura guys. Hell, now they even have carbon fiber brake rotors.
-Several years ago, if you say you were going to boost your NA motor that has 10:1 comp you were called a fool and that your engine would melt.
-Several years ago a "Custom turbo" was only for the elites due to the high dollar cost, now they are readily available for most without the high dollar factor
-Several years ago people were affraid of a turbo due to their lack of knowledge about them, the unknown factor. Now we know more about turbo (reading and understanding maps, etc)
-Several years ago how much did a T3 or T4 turbo cost, how much do
they cost now
-Several years ago how many fuel, boost controller was available, look how many they are now at a lower cost.
You see where I'm going with this. In our Sport Compact market the average Joe is reading and learning more about this sport. There's alot more info available today then it was several years ago. Along with info comes knowledge of knowing what can be done safely. Creating a custom turbo for a FWD V6 motor isn't rocket science, even the turbo feed portion. Any competent welder/exh fabricator can come up with something.
Maybe this could be part of the reason why it has taken several years for someone to create a turbo kit for our Maxima's. Before someone reminds me, I already know this is not the first turbo Max so don't bother.
What's sad is if someone created a turbo kit for their Max and it looks similar to one of the kits out there will they be given credit for developing their own kit or be talked about because it looks similar to someone elses kit.
To be honest I too have vision of boost dacing in my head. I know exactly how I'm going to route everything, which turbo to use (due to learning how to read and understand comp maps) I currently have two reman turbo's that useless for my application (can we say A/R sive of over 1.00 just too damn big) but it's all about the resale with these turbo.

It doesn't matter. I don't need to read the thread and I'm not buying a turbo kit...I'm just curious about turbo issues, etc. Guess I'll never know.

I think the easy and obvious solution would be to make me a moderator so I can go read the damn thing for myself!

regardless, when pfi sold a kit, it has their name on it, they made it, it is a representation of their work and quality.
