What exactly does a TSB mean? Does Nissan fix TSB's at no cost? What are they there to do, just provide info? I know this sounds dumb. I have heard of people getting free work done because of TSB's then i have also heard of people saying a TSB does not entitle you to free work. Is it just up to the dealer?

Technical Service bulletin. Usually, they are alerts or directions to fix problem that keep popping up, but aren't necessarily covered by the warranty like a recall is.

What it is, is a notice to the dealers that there maybe be an issue with certain things in the car. If folks bring in problems that their vehicle is expirencing that matches the TSB, then there is a common fix. If your car is under warrenty and you have one of the problems, take it in like normal and most like they would follow the TSB to repair the car. I got them to do the computer chip upgade on the 2001 that made first gear really on/off when at low RPM driving. I went in there for my free first oil change, told them about the problem and they fixed it for free.
