That does it. I need to vent. BADLY.

Three weeks ago the transmission went in for its rebuild. My mechanic took one WEEK to get it out of the car because he was busy (he's done a lot for me, so no hard feelings). After he finally takes it out, my transmission shop plays the silent game and I call them to ask wtf is going on. I called on the Tuesday - he tells me he can no longer start on it "tomorrow" - he wants until at least late NEXT week to get on it. He won't even take it apart so we can start looking at what parts to replace!

So 2.5 weeks later the transmission is done and reassembled. On this past Friday my mechanic and I put everything back together and by 8pm it looks like the car's ready to go.

I start her up and the battery+brake lights are dimly lit, the headlights (daytime running lights) are off until I step on the gas, at which point they light up and the battery/brake lights go off.

I hope that maybe the battery just gave up and plug in a brand new AC Delco that was sitting around. Nah. It looks like instead of 13V I'm getting 12.5. We check to see if the alternator is even charging the battery. Nope.

Weekend/monday morning we get under the car, decide taking the S/C off isn't worth it - remove the A/C compressor and take the alternator out to be tested and then rebuilt.

I FINALLY have my car ready to go again by last night. Start her up, service engine soon light pops on. 3 x ... the car isn't what it felt like on Friday (I took it around the block before the battery had a chance to die - I was DYING to see how the tranny/high stall TC were).

This morning - on my way to work finally with my Max... some complete IDJUT takes the shoulder and then swerves back onto the road dragging crap out into the road - and his tire shoots out a giant rock right into my windshield. I have a giant spider made on my windshield on the driver's side right in front of me.

Will the saga ever end?

*sigh*

Thanks to the .org for letting me vent... I have Friday off... I'm going to get the windshield replaced... meeting up with speedemn later tonight to plug in his scan tool and see what code I've set. I'm -really- hoping it's just the MAF and not something bad like a knock sensor. That would mean going back under the hood for a long amount of time - again.

Thanks guys

Maybe I should let you guys take the S/C.

I think I know where the SES/wack performance is coming from - I just switched my AFC to display raw knock sensor info, and it's stuck between 160-170

I guess it's like they say.. when it rains, it pours.

We plug it into the scan tool in a few hours.... and then I'll have likely confirmation of my fears
