Need help, sharp whistling noise from inside the wheel area, not the brakes...
I been having this whistling noise coming from my left front wheel area. Yesterday I went to the dealer and purchase this front brake kit serviced the brakes and changed out the oil, installed the Motul dot4 and SS brake lines. I went out for a ride and the noise was clearly there. I jacked up the car and put it in gear leaving the front wheels to spin freely, put it in first and spun the wheels. My brother was diagnosing the noise, then I went down to investigate and the noise was gone and it is surely not my brakes the noise was coming from the CV joint surrounding area, what else could make that noise? Only hear it when I am rolling goes away and comes back

every so often is not 100% there all the times, it comes when I get on it, but this morning it was there but I was not driving fast, I did look at that nut last night but didnt pay much mind to it. Ill remove the pin and attach a fence post to the wrench and see if its 100% tight.

CV joints in good shape? if there's no grease in one of them, they could be making nasty noises from metal-on-metal.
ummm, SS brake lines? is one of them rubbing against the wheel? crawl under the car and check to make sure it's not rubbing on the inside of the wheel. I've seen it happen to a couple people on here and the consequence is an exploding brake line at the worst possible time.

the noise was there before the SS lines I thought it was the brakes but after some spirited driving and catching up to a C5 last night after a 4 car lenght head start the noise was there but not coming from the rotor area. I may do it again today and see if I can go under the vehicle first this time. The CV boots are still in good condition

I just jacked up the car now I have a weird noise on the right hand side now I am really lost but then again could it be the Quaife and the fact that I shimmed it perfectly and I was suppose to leave 1000ths of an inch of play on both sides and I never did it and now it is shifting left to right putting pressure on both wheel bearings. The noise goes away once I jack it up, but the noise started as I made a right hand turn.
