So I go outside this morning and look what I see...

someone broke into my 3rd gen.

http://www.dcmax.org/images/DSC00414-1.JPG
http://www.dcmax.org/images/DSC00415-1.JPG
ALL pics of car

These pics arent the best since it was at 600 this morning but apparently they broke the passenger front window, Popped the hood to unhook the battery, opened the back door and pried the backseat off to get to 2 JL audio subs and two amps. Apperently they were mad since the trunk pop didnt work since they tried to pry open the trunk too
fockers also stole my faceplate for the headunit, werent smart enuff to take the whole thing, a carbon fiber shift ****, and my mag light

Called the and since no evidence was left on how they broke the window it goes to a call center to call me back and take my statement. So no one even came out. Waiting for insurance to call me back and see what I might be able to get out them.

Only good thing I can say is at least it wasny my 2k2 or I heads would roll around the neighborhood!!!!!!

Filed my police report but "with no suspects the report goes to inactive"
also filed insurance claims agaisnt my auto policy for the damage and home owners for the junk inside!

Question .... how did they know the subs were in the back behind the seats? Sounds like someone who already knew they were there....
I'm really not a thief, I just have a little voice on my shoulder

You did that too? I had to go get a new torque bracket(?) cause I couldn't remove the piece of bolt that was stuck in the hole.

Wholy schpit! That, my friend, SUX big time!! And while I tend to agree about the whole not bumpin in da hood thing, often times, it doesn't even matter if you're at home or somewhere else. Sure, you've got the "ounce of prevention" thing, but if a thief REALLY wants to get in your ride, he/she will. Take it from a guy that wasn't always a "good guy"!

Good luck on the reimbursement, though...

an update...talked to the insurance and all the damage is covered with no deductible I just need to take it around and find a shop to do the work and start looking in junk yards for my seat. I do already have a trunk but am going to need the keylock and maybe the arms that it sits on.
My home owners policy is covering the stereo stuff since it was not "permently hooked to the vehicle"
overall I think I might be able to get a full paintjob on this car with the money. Or if nothing else a good alarm for the 2k2

Just because they got in the trunk and took the subs doesnt mean they knew they were there. They could have been just going through the whole car.....Like a good thief would!!! Sorry about the loss billy. When i had the car someone tried to break in it too at the mall. If you were to look at the pass side key lock you could see where they tried to get in but it didnt work, sounds like these thieves were more determined. Good luck on fixing it...she needed a paint job anyways.

You need to file that all under your auto policy. If you can reasonably show that you owned the stuff that you say you did then they should pay. No use in having both home and auto rates go up. The auto insurance is going to futbuck you good enough anyways. At least get what you put into your premium.

Thanks nstymax....depends on the money coming from them then I prolly will be able to get a paint job on it since I'll be doing the rest of the fixing on it myself (since I already got the trunk specially)

Rab'sAE - Too late. Homeowners wont go up and the auto shouldnt either. Its treated as vandilsm going against my comprehensive and when asked she said no. This will be my second claim ever..first was a damn tire blow out that I got 45 dollars out of
And now I am getting an alarm on the other max this weekend so if any system goes back in this car then an alarm will go on it also.

Thanks Cartis -
UPDATE: for those that might be interested.

Talked with insurance today since the claims guy came out yesterday. They already had my estimate done. almost 1500 dollars is what I am getting and that just for the damage. Havent called to find out if how much for the crap inside it! Not bad if ya ask me since I already have a trunk lid waiting to be put on (just need a new lock part for it)!
I might be able to get a decent paint job out of it too
cheers
Billy
