Remember, I rarely get to drive on the highway. But I did 3 weeks ago, checked my mpgs and it was 22 ALL-HIGHWAY. This weekend I cleaned and reoiled the K&N, just did the trip last night, and got 27 mpg. Mileage between cleanings was 1400.

The panel kind of is like a strainer that you use for pasta. Eventually there is stuff that gets into the mesh that you cannot get out no matter how much you work it with the cleaner and toothbrush. Just like having cholesterol in your arteries. When you hold up a used K&N to the light you see parts where the light no longer shines through.
