00VI Installed :)

Special thanks to Krismax and Tilley for helping me.

I still need to install the RPM switch and the oil seperator on the PCV line. I also need to drain coolant and install my lower temp thermostat so the car runs cooler. Finally, I need to make it work with my PR Style CAI.

It's on the midpipe, but it is tilted so you can't see in pics.

I cut the EGR guide tube and connected it with a hose so it would be longer and fit more snug.

On the Fuel Rail, the one closest to the front of the car, replace with this http://www.sx7r.com/fuelfitting.htm

In hte middle of hte manifold, there are 2 elbows, one for PCV and one for vaccum. The small one for vaccum can be used for the FPR or you can use the stock vaccum source.

Also I got hte oil seperator from WalMart for 11 bucks. It is where they keep hte air tool stuff.

I don't know if you have to, but it makes it more like stock and I think that is better. But my fuel rail didn't come with anything on the front one so I had to get it. Also my car is not running rich, or at least I can't tell it is.

One more thing to add, stock Midpipe doesn't fit

SO you kept the stock EGR? thats wonderful! I really didnt want to remove it.

i have the "oil separator" you speak of and its not to be used with sythetic oils.....which i just switched to. the oil reacts with the plastic bowl and chages color. it may be eatting away at the bowl. ive been empting it out and keeping a close watch.

NO stock mid pipe?!! DOH!

Oh, Thanks for telling me, I have been running synthetic for a few years now.

Yeah, all the brake stuff is in hte way on the right side, so stock one will not fit.

Thats a cool swap, but the 5th gen VI is poorly engineered in terms of reliability. I have had mine fail 2 seperate times and it is happening to a lot of people in the 5th gen forum. The good news is that there is a pretty simple fix for it.

I already put JB Weld on it, it wasn't broken either.

As for the cables, it is not 100% alighned, but I will fix that today. It doesn't stick either.

Ahh the zip tie method. You are right about the d@mn part. I really believe it has a better top and than the MEVI.

I plugged up the vaccum line on the right side of the TB inlet neck. On the top vaccum inlet, I put a bigger elbow so the 10mm hose would fit in it. I got hte TB adapter block made and I install the 00+injector connectors.

The top fitting goes to some EVAP thing. I filled in the hole with JB Weld.

Ok, I've read most of things so far about the VI swap. I'm just a little un-clear as to whether the VI can be moved over without any customizing. No home made TB adaptors, no soldering.... etc.

Is it possible. I have a complete 2k block, so all parts are available to me

There isn't really a complete writeup anywhere, is there... I bet quite a few people would kill for one...
