00VI Installed :)

Special thanks to Krismax and Tilley for helping me.







I still need to install the RPM switch and the oil seperator on the PCV line. I also need to drain coolant and install my lower temp thermostat so the car runs cooler. Finally, I need to make it work with my PR Style CAI.

It's on the midpipe, but it is tilted so you can't see in pics.

I cut the EGR guide tube and connected it with a hose so it would be longer and fit more snug.

hey I have one sitting in my room and I wanted to know where the vaccum lines from the 2 fuel pressure regulators go. What do they connect to?

On the Fuel Rail, the one closest to the front of the car, replace with this http://www.sx7r.com/fuelfitting.htm


In hte middle of hte manifold, there are 2 elbows, one for PCV and one for vaccum. The small one for vaccum can be used for the FPR or you can use the stock vaccum source.

Also I got hte oil seperator from WalMart for 11 bucks. It is where they keep hte air tool stuff.

I don't know if you have to, but it makes it more like stock and I think that is better. But my fuel rail didn't come with anything on the front one so I had to get it. Also my car is not running rich, or at least I can't tell it is.



One more thing to add, stock Midpipe doesn't fit

SO you kept the stock EGR? thats wonderful! I really didnt want to remove it.

i have the "oil separator" you speak of and its not to be used with sythetic oils.....which i just switched to. the oil reacts with the plastic bowl and chages color. it may be eatting away at the bowl. ive been empting it out and keeping a close watch.

NO stock mid pipe?!! DOH!

Oh, Thanks for telling me, I have been running synthetic for a few years now.

Yeah, all the brake stuff is in hte way on the right side, so stock one will not fit.

I've noticed your throtle cables are not aligned properly..Hope it doesn't start sticking on you especially during WOT...is that a PF tb you're running?

Thats a cool swap, but the 5th gen VI is poorly engineered in terms of reliability. I have had mine fail 2 seperate times and it is happening to a lot of people in the 5th gen forum. The good news is that there is a pretty simple fix for it.

I already put JB Weld on it, it wasn't broken either.

As for the cables, it is not 100% alighned, but I will fix that today. It doesn't stick either.

Ive had mine for about a week, zipped tied on high end, today I tried it closed, and wow low end is pretty amazing.... punching it in 1st 1600 all you get is wheelspin

Ahh the zip tie method. You are right about the d@mn part. I really believe it has a better top and than the MEVI.

kevlo911 can you make a diagram or list of the whjat you did with the different fittings on the manifold, i think we talked about this before but i wanted to see what you ended up doing as final results and compare to my own plans

I plugged up the vaccum line on the right side of the TB inlet neck. On the top vaccum inlet, I put a bigger elbow so the 10mm hose would fit in it. I got hte TB adapter block made and I install the 00+injector connectors.

what are you using to plug those fittings with?

yeah i noticed the top fitting looks a lil different from stock, where is that one goign to?

The top fitting goes to some EVAP thing. I filled in the hole with JB Weld.

Ok, I've read most of things so far about the VI swap. I'm just a little un-clear as to whether the VI can be moved over without any customizing. No home made TB adaptors, no soldering.... etc.

Is it possible. I have a complete 2k block, so all parts are available to me
