That was pretty good Sprnt.
Hey, guess what arrived yesterday? BTW, i picked up a NX pressure gauge for $25 today & i found someone who fills right by me. hehe.
I dont know what NOS is but i do know what Guin-NOS is. (Sorry, inside joke between me and Chris91SE)

Okay Sprnt, i found out why the gauge didnt fit.. well i kinda knew just wasnt positive. Anyways, the NOS kit has 4AN fittings and the NX (Nitrous Express) uses 6AN fitting. Now.. i had to order a $15 adapter so i can use the gauge i bought. Doh! There is $15 i could of spent on something else. Oh well. I'm 1 step closer. I was also quoted $250 for the install. That is a good chunk of change. I might just do it myself. Take my time for it.
The NOS deal from JC Whitney will last until 6/01 (end of the month). It is for $375 shipped to your door. Ask either me or Sprnt for the codes. Just dont forget that you will need to find someone who fills it, installs it (if your not a DIY mechanic), buy gauges, gauge pod, purge kit (optional), window switch (optional but highly rec.), bottle heater or blanket (optional but rec. if living in colder weather).

Re: nos
its pretty much simple.. but has to be done carefully..
you got 2 solenoids.. connect those, run hose from bottle into solenoid 1, out of solenoid 2 is another hose that goes to the intake (between the TB and MAF) this also has your spray jet(shot control) between solenoid 1 and 2 the connector has a third end.. that connects to the NOS fuel Pressure Regulator, that connects to a hose... the end of that hose connects to a T fitting.. that T fitting has two other ends.. as it has 3 and one goes to the NOS pressure gauge... the other two .. one goes to the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator and the other goes to the line that use to go to the Stock Fuel Pressure regulator.. apart from that..everything else is electrical.. keep in mind you will have to drill a hole into the Intake...
Thanks to Matt for the scanned pic

Re: empty?
Tank is shipped emtpy for obvious saftey reasons.. you will have to find a performance shop near you to fill it up for you.. it usually about $30 - $35 for filling the tank

NOS Kit from jcwhitney
I ordered the 40-60 shot NOS for $375 but I'm not sure if I received the correct one. They sent me, according to the invoices, the 5124 which comes with only a 70 shot nozzle. I suppose I could buy a smaller nozzle or I guess I'll have to get all my gauges, probably a triple-shot of AutoMeter (A/F, EFP, and EGT)and new fuel pump before I try to run it at a 70-Shot.
Does anybody think I can still run the 70 with the stock fuel pump since the NOS fuel pressure safety switch SHOULD cut of the nitrous if the fuel pressure is not adequate?
Is it possible to adjust the fuel pressure safety?
How to you adjust the rpms that the nitrous turns ON and OFF?

Re: NOS Kit from jcwhitney
According to Synki.. and i trust his judgement very much.. the kit comes with 40, 60 and 70 shot...
well Matt ran in a little problem running a 60 shot and decided to go get the pump.. so i would say on the safe side.. DO NOT run the kit with the 70 shot with the stock fuel pump.. this is entirely up to you..
To have the NOS come on at certain rpm's.. you will need a RPM window switch.. range from $75 - $200 MSD being the cheapest priced one on the market and NOS being the most expensive.. i have my kit.. i havn't touched it yet.. because i have a 5spd and the install is not happening till i get the RPM window switch.. call me extra cautious

Any idea on how the fuel pressure safety switch works or is adjusted?

Yep, my kit came with total of 4 jets, but 1 of them is for the fuel pressure. The 3 jets are the 50, 60, 70 shot. At least that is what i got.
Sprnt is right, i would get a window switch regaurdless. It just prevents you from spraying at a low rpm and spraying at redline. Well worth the $$ when you play with NOS.

Re: Re: Re: NOS Kit from jcwhitney
To the best of my knowledge "it is suppose to shut down the NOS when the fuel pressure gets out of whack" ...

I guess these 'chips' come in packs of 5. Anybody want to sell the RPMs chips they are not using?
