Given that most cars have a life expectancy of 150,000 miles, my car's a geezer now at 211,000 miles. Where exactly is the old car home that I can send this thing to, and trust that it'll be looked after?

Been here for 5 years... wasn't active since 2005, but am back now that we have an i30. Maxima.org has come a loooooooong way. I am saddened by the loss of the search function.

Oh yeah... how can I change my username?? I pm'd a few "mods" but that went nowhere.

You must donate a 20 spot to enable the search function...If you are a serious do-it-yourselfer and a true Maxima enthusiast you won't have a problem with it...

After I left Hampton Roads and moved to WA state I didn't drive the Maxima much (got a Subaru Outback). AWD is a blessing going through those mountain passes. After my head gasket blew it was bye bye Maxima. I do miss my car but moved on to bigger things (2007 Nissan Titan). Now I enjoy doggin my buddies with their Hemi's.
Hardly post here at all now.. Been spending my days at Titantalk.com or Clubtitan.org

I remember when Andi moderated the forums in the old, pre-vB, software. It was the first internet message board I ever posted on.
I remember maxima.ml.org.
I remember Edwin.
I've had 3 Maximas, but don't own one now, and don't spend any time here anymore.

my first memories of maxima.org are from way back when I got my 4th gen in 2000. I was bored at work and not much of a car enthusiast but decided to look up maximas on the internet and found this place. before I knew it a larger and larger percentage of my paycheck was going to modding my car.
I remember driving to D.C. for maxus and partying with all the crazy OGs back then going to the drag strip the following day. I got a FREE 260HP MAXIMA water bottle before the car got demoted to 255HP and they also had a altima (I think) which was a prototype with a CVT transmission.
In terms of racing:I first got into drag racing and some might remember that for a brief second I held the world record for NA maxima with a 14.2 with only minimal mods but a stripped interior. I then moved on to autoX and prepared my car for CSP where I would rock all kinds of cars with my agx/ground control setup with strut bars, rear swap bar, and even that rear strut relocation kit for added travel (which I still say is a must for all lowered maximas).
After that I got the crazy idea of adding HIDs with projectors to my car after making friends with an audi S4 owner and commenting on how his headlights looked like they would fit on a 4th gen without too much work. I was wrong. I had to get custom fenders and a custom grill along with all kinds of fab work and cutting. I repainted the car BMW carbon black metallic to finish it off and ended up with a very unique car (www.cardomain.com/id/theblue). I enjoyed the car for several more years but at around 140,000 miles I was ready for something else that was more sporty. I ended up with an Evolution VIII. I sold my beloved maxima to a friend for a couple thousand dollars and moved on. He since had all kinds of problems with the car but still has it along with a new civic Si, one day he will complete it again with who know s what kind of turbo or power but I can't wait to see it and drive it once again.
and that's my maxima.org story.

Are you still maintaining your weight reduction list? I know I owe you a list, with weights. I do have a box of removed parts and lots of OEM weights for you, I just have to get organized and put it all together in a list format.

I remember i had an old account that dated back to May 02. My very first post was a question about my moms car smoking, pinging and basiclaly running like ****. Turns out it got a BHG. I was absent on the org for awhile then i forgot about the first account and created another. Well i lost the password to that first email account so it was no good anyways.
But here i am. Been here for almost 5 years and i still love this place. My 3rd home next to work!
