I occasionally use Shell V-Power and have not had any problems.

There was a problem with Shell gas in Florida. PPL had to clean out their gas tanks including my son-in-law.

Shell had the craziest prices I have seen to date yesterday.
87 was $2.15
89 was $2.17
93 was $2.19

When I came home from work, Race Trac was $2.00, 2.10 and $2.20. It's crazy when Shell high test is cheaper than Race Trac's. It probably changed overnight though. I'll check on my way to work.

I don't use Shell very often, but haven't had any problem with it in the past. Watch for gas prices to trend up a little bit in the next week or two, reflecting the increase in oil prices in the past couple of weeks. Typically the change in gas prices lags oil prices.

I've been doing multiple trips from NJ to NYC lately, so leaving Philly I've been seeing unleaded 87 ranging from 1.919 to 1.959.

It's well worth it to be in Jersey to get cheap gas--my friend only pays $2800/mo. rent for a 2-bedroom!!! Parking not included!

The price to pay to live in the city. I was born and raised in Manhattan. I raised 6 daughters there. One of my daughters took over my coop and pays maintance of 900 month for a 3 BR, 1 1/2 bath. This will stay in my family forever. Warren

$2800 a month for rent? That would pay my mortgage for 3 plus months. You could buy a lot of gas with $2800.

Thats cheap. How about a 2 bedroom coop for over a million dollars. Rents up to 10,000 a month. Depends on what area you live in.

No kidding! Thats a helluva lot more than my parents pay for our 4 bedroom house on a lake!!! I guess if you can afford that then gas prices aren't much of an issue either...

You're totally right, because my friend is in Jersey City, not Manhattan. Manhattan is well over $900/sq. ft now. That million dollars is not the problem--it's the maintenance fee on top of that which never goes away.

So say you put 20% down, finance the rest on the property you mention. That's about 4700 before taxes. So you're looking at maybe 6500/mo. after taxes and maintenance, for about what, 1400 sq. ft and 2-bed? Now it's understandable to rent for 3 grand/mo. Big diff. is you don't need the 200k downpayment. It's easy to see that even with a 300k salary in Manhattan, you'd be struggling to get ahead.

Now just imagine it's more expensive in Shanghai, China!! *LOL*

Just kidding, Shanghai isn't there yet. Tokyo blows everyone away period. But after that, NYC and London are very very expensive by world standards.
