"What series BMW is that, 3 or 5?" Ok I understand I have Angel eyes, but there's no way you can miss the big *** NISSAN logo on the front of the car. Yes I'm in Germany where there aren't many Nissan's and a crap load of BMW's, but you can't mistake our Maxima's for BMW's can you???

I've honestly never gotten a dumb comment about my car. Everyone knows it's a Maxima.. I guess I just live in a smart part of the world..

What did you expect? You tried to make your car look like a BMW and you live in Germany.

And yes, putting angel eyes on your car is mimicking BMW--that's not even up for debate.

i think the 5 speeds ( 4 forward and 1 reverse) takes the cake. that **** still makes me laugh. i get a lot of compliments on my car but when i just got my wheels some kid that worked for my mom was lookin at it and asked if my wheels were 17s - i told him, no, they 20s. he said 20s are huge and only belong on lifted trucks (smart kid). no **** 3 hrs later i saw him again. he said the exact same compliment on the wheels then proceded to ask if they were 17s.i just looked at him and said - what the *** you think this is? a lifted truck? dumb *** kid told me they looked to big to be 17s anyway. i just slowly walked away

 

angel eyes are and have been BMW's trademark since before the angel eye craze started. if it weren't for BMW there wouldn't be angel eyes. it's like lexus' yellow fogs.

don't be so surprised if someone thinks your car is the car whose style you're copying.

 

when i got my k-sport coilovers on, went to a shop to get it aligned.

me: i got my car lowered and needs an alignment.
tech: alright, just drop it off, it'll be ready by tomm.

1 day later...

tech: heres a picture diagram of the alignment. everything is fine except the passenger side camber, its running -1.1 degrees.

me: why is it off so much?
tech: well i adjusted the top plate, by moving it all the way to the left side as far as it will go. i can't get anymore play with it.

me: well, what do you think could be wrong with it?
tech: maybe your control arm is bent or something cause it should obviously not doing that.

me: well did you adjust the lower mount bolts?
tech: no, because you can't adjust those.

me: yeh you can. there aftermarket, not stock.
tech: i know, but you can't adjust those at all. i've been doing this stuff for 10+ years. what experience do you have?

me: well, not much but look, the holes on the lower mount are larger in diameter, thus allowing for more play.
tech: sigh.... alright man well just leave the car and i'll look at it again.

next day later.....

tech: oh hey, yeh turns out i did get more play from the bottom. everything is fine now.

 

Lol all my campus parking tickets say that my car is a grey sentra, and you can clearly see my car is not grey at all lol.

 

My camber plates are smack dab in the middle and I was able to get a 0* camber alignment.

Considering my angel eye's weren't even lit when the comment was made, no it wasn't what I expected. Also, I'm not trying to make my car look like a BMW and I do live in Germany, Thanks for pointing that out.

haven't gotten many comments about my maxima yet. But when I owned my 2001 Camaro Z28 I was asked more than once "is that thing FWD?" and most people walked away because of the look I gave them. Some of the more oblivious ones stayed and asked "does it have a 6cyl in it?" Drove me out of my mind.

since i crashed my 96 a month ago i been all over the place looking for a replacement. one of the stops i made was my local nissan dealership. i was lookin at a 97 I30 there till i realized the suspension was GONE (thing bounced like a basketball). i told the guy, fix that and well talk. his response was, i can get 4k easy for this at the auction. i said, then do it.

i came back last weekend to ask a tech about my codes and saw the same douchebag dealer there. this is more or less how the conversation went:

HIM: hows your car hunt going ? (....after i step outta a new 4th gen)
ME: good, i just got a steal on this [pointing to my car]

he begins to inspect it casually.

HIM: how many miles are on it?
ME: 41,940 !
HIM: how much you pay?
ME: forty five hundred

he kinda snapped his head back and gave me a "stop bsing me" smile.

ME: No, really, owned by a 91 year old woman dying of cancer, carfax checks out.
HIM: theres no way that car has that few miles on it.
ME: do you want to see the engine bay? the exhaust? check the suspension?
HIM: it was probably in an accident. besides that stuff doesnt matter (.........hahahahaha) and i know a way you can rollback the odometer and still produce a clean CARFAX.
ME: oh yea? hows that [i smile]
