the four cylinder maximas are slow <-- coming from my friend with a 4cylinder accord

me and a friend were racing a 350z in his 5.5 and we fly by some kid we knew and later on the night he was like.. "OMFG there was this Sick bmw that got smoked by a nissan. " ..and btw he beat us by car length .."smoked"

 

some guy told me that if were to swap my stock striat 6 to a v6 my maxima would be twice as fast (he said this while looking at my short ram intake and even made a comment about it being a 3.0)i told him to get the f*** away from my car

 

"Is that a V4 or V6?"

"You should drop the Skyline motor in it yo!"

 

I was waiting for my Dad and brother outside the movie theater at about 1am and the rent-a-cop comes up to my car after hearing me pull up and goes "Wow that's a good sound system you have (I had no music on, he was talking about the exhaust). How much was that, like 4 grand??

I was like wow, you have to be kidding me. I said, nope about $1000 after changing things out to get the sound I wanted. He responded with "Wow, I thought it would have been atleast a 3k system.

Yeah, GTFO.

 

I was at the NOPI National one time with a bunch of Maxima owners, and this douche walked up and asked if it had a SR20. I politely asked him to step away from the car, and asked him how many times he had seen the origional Fast & the Furious.

 

Yesterday my friend was talking about how hhow he beat another friend at racing, so i asked him what car he has. He told me "an automatic 2001 civic lx". He asked about my car so i told him, and then he goes "dude nissan maxima's suck!". The funny thing is he actually challenged me and told me he would smoke me haha.

 

i got a few.
"maxima are slow my neon eats them for breakfast". raced his neon with 5 bad injectors, o2 sensor, and junk in the trunk. got headstart and left his ***.

"what year is that stanza?" ouch!

this one takes the cake normally you would expect cops to know about these cars, and plus this was advertised on tv as a police chase.

"the suspect pushes his 4 cylinder past it's limits" (odd thing is cops in the c/v could catch him so they send in a dodge charger which caught up to them.

"wow your car sounds like a g35!"

 

My 3rd gens Alty went yesterday (original factory one so cant bish) and i got her boosted and took it in for a new Alty.

Took a cab to get her this morning, driver asks what kind of car. i say 92 Maxima, he says "what, is that a Toyota or something?". He was a nice guy though and i had a good car convo with him, hes been driving Crown Vic's for a long time so cant blame him for not knowing imports, he launched his Vic and gotta say i was impressed (he stopped owning his own cabs years ago so i dont think he cared if he launched lol)

 

I have painted calipers and cross drilled slotted rotors.


I was going like 35-40 MPH and a red light was coming up and I might have been in 3rd or 2nd. Maybe 2nd and toying with the RPM's. Anyhow this guy in a nice looking truck ended up like speeding up a little and as the light turned red we both slowed down.

As I finally rolled up to the light to stop he goes "damn do you have Brembo brakes on there"

I thought it was funny when he said it, he actually seemed cool and I casually said no.

6 speed just stops on a dime man, especially in second gear and if you know how to brake with it...funniest thing I heard because I know brembo's are like really big brake's....

 

Hey everyone, newbie here making this my first post. The most ridiculous comment i have received was when I had just purchased my car, my friend, very aloofly (out of spite maybe) asked me if it was a toyota.

Couple of my boys and I were cruisin' up and down my street taping some footage for a dvd im shooting about import cars and music and a neighbor comes in my yard and said he gonna call police cuz we are making 2 much noise...I tellem go kill his self and my boys peel off,shortly after the good'ole law is my driveway and he said he got a few complaints that a honda accord w/black tints is racing up down the street( pointing @my car) I laugh in the cops face and point to my car and say "N-I-S-S-A-N Maxima n he felt dumb *** hell even tho it was me he got the call about hahahahaha

 

a guy i wanted revenge from for assorted reasons, i argued him into this response-

whats the chance last night comin home from work i was ridin a car pulls along side my back driver door i speed he speed i slow down he slow down. I pull into the QT (gas station) he gets out and says man that impala looks like a police car i didn't want to pass you. does it have a chip? I said bone stock Maxima he looked at me like it came st8 from japan or somthin WTF?

I had a free work day in my GST class and pull my car into the shop to put on a lift and everyone there could not guess what car it was since I debadged the back and everyone asked me if it was a altima or some strange silvia or old old nissan back in the day.

 

One of my dumb co workers saw it for the first time and says is that A Ford......

i was at a tire shop getting my one tire rebalanced and after i pulled out a slightly redneck man asked me;
Is that one of those turbo neons, that exhaust sounds mean. then the tire guys says it cant be a neon it has 5 studs. its an accord right?

I went to advance auto parts to get something, and one of the workers said "nice maxima, great condition for the age. I have two, a 92 and 95. Which engine do you have, the dohc?" I said "thanks. 95-99 Maximas only came with one engine and they are all dohc." He then said "No my wifes 93 is SOHC." In my mind im thinking is he stupid or not listening? I said "3rd gen Maximas (89-94) came with 2 engine choices either sohc or dohc. All maximas from 95 to present were only offered 1 engine choice within their respective generations, and for the 4th gens (95-99) all engines are DOHC." he goes "my 95 is SOHC!" I say " No it isn't! You need to do some research, b/c you know nothing about your car!" Then I had a code read and he was trying to tell me what the code was saying was wrong, of course he was wrong about that too lol.

 

well someone on this forum is actually doing a rb26 swap in his 4th gen sooooo....not really so ridiculous now.
