ok i got a co worker with a Durango. i was parked next to him, and when we went outside he says "Better watch out! my truck dont like 4 cylinder cars" (texan accent). so i just laugh it off like stfu.

-the same day, im at the gas station and when im walking back out to my car its 2 guys filling their cars. they're looking at mine, and the older guy says, its nice though. i shoulda said thanks

-I have the majestic blue and i keep it up (NXT 2.0 baybee!!) so when you touch my car its so smooth the bugs slide off at night LOL its funny watching it. But the bird poop doesnt

 

My girlfriend's mom talks trash about it every chance she gets. Asking if my car is even reliable enough to drive a long trip in, asking me how the heck it comes with an alarm system when it's so old, etc.

The alarm system was very recent and if she knew what she was talking about she'd know that I'm driving a "near-luxury" car and we have these kinds of things stock.

Other thing is those Honda fools telling me their beat up Civics can beat me just because it's an auto.

Back in undergrad, I was carpooling w/my ex (gf at the time), and she was driving (bought the car for her), GXE 5sp that we autocrossed... she's darn good. Anyways, taking a cloverleaf and a Z comes drifting @ us from behind, and in our lane. My gf didn't wanna get hit so tried to avoid him, but in the process dug 1 wheel into the dirt and we spun, whacked a meter stoplight, spun the other direction, and we ended up stopped in the 1st lane of the freeway. Car was totalled, of course.

Both of us survived, luckily the semi in lane 1 swerved around us... that woulda been ugly.

The Z drove off, nobody got the plates, but at least we had witnesses... unfortunately w/o the Z's plates, our ins couldn't do anything for us. We got couple grand for the car, they paid CalTrans to install a new stoplight, and we bought another altima SE 5sp after that. LOL.

But yeah, duh, if I didn't survive, y the heck am I still here?! LOL

I had an idiot few days ago come up to me in a gas station when I filling gas and he was like "What kinda car is this?" i'm like... it's a nissan maxima... and he's like "really? wow, who makes it?" ... I'm like... umm Nissan does... and he's like... "is that made in germany?" lol what... the hell... do you... tell.. a moron like that? I didn't respond to his last Q.. so he concludes his ignorance with..."I know this is a german car... them germans make some strong cars, boy" I finished filling up, got in my car and left. lol

 

People always think my Max is black. When I got a parking ticket last month, he wrote it out for a "black Nissan Maxima"

I mean, I know it's a dark color, but I think it's really obviously blue.

Just bought a new 2nd gen Tiburon 5sp (no tags yet) for my gf (altima got smashed, so she wanted a Tiburon), and I'm driving it to break it in. Filling up at a gas station, guy pulls up, gets out of his nice looking Jetta, comes over to ask "Hey, is this the new Porsche that's coming out next year?!" I said yeah, but don't talk so loud, I'm just beta testing it.

My friend drives a 5th gen toyota camary that i sold him about a month ago. so now since he got his car he thinks that his little 4 bannger can beat my maxima. However every time he tells me his car is faster i ask him to race, and he always comes up with an excuse no to.

 

I have had two people pull up next to me at a light and ask me if I was driving the new 2009 Maxima. My 2007 doesn't look anything like the new Maxima.

I work at a Mercedes/Audi/Jaguar stealership and I was out back smoking a cigarette and a salesman and a customer walked by my car and the customer asked the salesman "Hey, did you just get this Jaguar on trade? How much?" and as they walked by I told him "It's a Nissan.. and its not for sale.. But if it was a Jag I'd totally sell it to you." I think this made him decide to keep his 4th Gen Max.. Yeah...

Classmate - What do you drive?
Me - 95 Nissan Maxima.
Classmate - Nissans, especially Maximas don't last. I like toyotas and hondas. My honda went for 145K miles. Had to do a bit of work to keep it running and finally had to buy a new engine.
Me - I am at 180K miles, only scheduled maintenance was done.

I did that the other day (with my '07) to a colleague who happens to own a '95 Max. He said something to the effect "gee, they just keep making these fancier and fancier". When I told him his '95 would do the same thing he refused to believe me. When he got home he tried it and, of course, it worked. He still could hardly believe it - especially since he owned the car since new.

 

What does the stock system do to the windows? hell, i just bought my maxima, i probably didn't even know it had any features

 

I got the Altima question today.
