what is the dumbest, most ridiculous comment you've received about your car ?
Its great, especially with the extra long range the Max remotes have, to roll down the windows on a hot day and let the interior start to cool as you walk towards the car.

Back on topic
At the race track about two months ago, some guys in their early 20's couldn't identify Ptatohed's max; as they walked away all I heard was one guy say "Man that sentra sure is modified"
i just tried it. i would have never known. thanks!
my mom was so amazed by it lol
as far as the thread, the most ridiculous comment i've gotten is a co-worker of mine saying that with the shaved trunk it looks like a skyline

today in class a kid i was talking to said he totalled his car (acura TL type-S) and now has a 08 V6 accord, and was saying it's quick. He said something about it having a 3.5, and I mentioned how i wanted to get a 5.5 gen (cuz of the 3.5) and he said his friend has one and it's pretty slow. I asked what year to see if it was actually a 5.5 gen, and told him how the earlier ones came with a 3.0, and he tried to tell me he's seen plenty 2.5 liter maximas. I started to laugh and told him, not in the US you didn't...
he still didn't believe me

You can do that with any Ford vehicle
****-Explorer
****-Ranger
****-Expedition
****-Fiesta
It makes you wonder how they decided on the names for the cars
Press and hold the unlock button on the remote and the front windows will roll down. As far as I know, been a standard Max feature since '95 EXCEPT for '00 & '01. I was pissed when I got my '00 and it didn't have it, but it returned on my '03 and my '07 has it as well.
was to roll down the windows with the keypad after putting in the code ( se models dont have the keypad but i think all gxe from 89-94 did)
most 89-94 gxe people dont use the keypad (idk y)reminds how its funny when someone doesnt understand something so they think(thats stupid i dont like that anyways-
i dont care if i lock my keys in my car cause i didnt reset and pick a new code)

when i went to get my viper alarm installed. the installer hopped behind the computer to see if any extra parts were required . The convo went like this
Installer: its a legend huh?
I looked up and noticed he was lookin at me & nodding & acting a bit naughty
, his english wasnt that good so i took him wrong...
Me: ehhh its just a car, but yeah a lot of people admire it.
Installer: acura?
Me: ohhhhhh, no, nissan........... MAXIMA (while thinkin how an acura legend is anything remotly close to a maxima)
Installer: oh its still early in the morning !!!
Me: heh
Installer: 91 right?
Me: NO, 98........ SE............... V6........... AUTO
Installer: i told you i havent had my coffee .........

It's good that they don't notice the mods. No one denies there are lots of mods for Civics...wander why? ricycivicwithledwashernozzlesandmassivewing.jpg
I was out with a couple of my friends and their friends. This guy said my stock '96 was a piece of **** and that it would get smoked by his slightly modded Civic (CAI, ricey exhaust, big heavy 19" chrome rims, huge spoiler). So we lined up, of course he got smoked (badly I must add), and he didn't say a word to me for the rest of the night.

My front passenger side window will roll down but won't roll up from the passenger side so whenever someone rolls the window down and can't roll it back up they always say "Hey your window is broken" and I always have to explain how that button doesn't roll it up but the driver side button does. Last time someone asked I got pissed and said "Why the hell did you roll it down???"....haha. It's funny when a passenger points out something you never notice because you're always sitting in the drivers seat.
Also people tend to love the sunroof but I never use it because I'm a windows up/AC type of guy.

My story comes from the first day I bought my car (a 6th gen). I went online and did what everyones prety much does, build your car and price. So I had decided to get the 6 speed model with the black leather interior and all this other stuff. So I go to the dealer and asked for the model I wanted. The sales man looks at me and says "Nissan doesn't make 6 speed Maximas" So I looked at him and said "Nissan's websites shows that you carry that option". So the idiot goes to his manager and comes back 5 mins later to tell me "Nissan stoped 6 speed production last month"
I felt like slapping that fool.
So I go to another dealer and had a row of 6 speeds to choose from.

my really small maxima has v4 engine
When I went to look at my car before i bought it (it is 98 GXE),
the owner told me it still had the original engine, which is v4 and the car is very small. He also said that it gets 35mpg. The guy had no idea what he had and what he was talking about. But I am happy, I got great deal out of it
Not to forget the 2.7L engine and the rear wheel drive on this Maxima.

Hate some of those stupid people at the Nissan dealership. I went there and the guy did not want to help me because My car did not cost more than $20,000. He did not say it, but he meant it. Never going to that dealership again. Wanted to kick him in the nuts
I went up to the dealer to get valve cover gaskets for my 93' SE and the man behind the counter refused to believe Nissan ever made a VE30DE and that they didn't have any gaskets for my engine. He even got on his computer, talked with another parts guy, came back and told me I must have the VG30E if I have an 1989-1994 Maxima. I told him it was a 92-94 SE and would not supply me with the gaskets.
It kind of pissed me off how the people they have working back there know nothing of what they're doing. He finally realized VG30DE was not VG30E, and apparently read it wrong as he assured me afterwards it was actually VE30DE
