Burned out headlight wiring

I have a 99 SE and I put in a pair of 9004 Plasma Blue lights a few months ago. Recently I noticed one of the plugs was partially melted. Therefore, low beam didn't work, and driving light and high beam did.
I took it into the shop today and they said the aftermarket lights was 100/80w, which was too high.
Should this wattage be ok?

This is true
The higher wattage bulb will produce more heat. The same thing happened to my harness as well. A simple fix is to buy another harness at your local auto parts store. They have universal harnesses for all headlight bulbs. The only cost 4 or 5 bucks. All you have to do is cut the old one off and wire up the new one. Or you can go back to your factory bulbs or find a lower wattage aftermarket bulb.

Get APC wiring Harness if you plan on running 80w/100w. If not, go to pep boys and get the 9004 socket. Make sure you use good ground points when you decide to use the APC wiring harness.

i had the same problem except my entire harness melted so bad it became a Lump of plastic ... this is not good
this is wut i did
and i DON'T recommend doin it unless you've done this stuff b4
cut off the old harness, go and buy Crimp connectors and crimp one onto each wire and slide them onto the headlight and you're done .. of course if they connectors should move while the light is on you will fry your entire lighting system .. of course now if you put 200W bulbs in the connectors won't melt
