is it fairly safe to run about 40-50 hp of dry nitrous on a vg30e that has stock internal engine parts? Only upgrades to engine is exhaust and a custom cai.

well...

they usually will ask: will your engine take the extra stress from the extra power...
umm...this has to do with a bunch of seals and engine component strength...

as they grow older, they wear out and are not as strong...
you probably could run a lot of things if you already rebuild the engine....
wear and tear is inevitable....running higher power on a a stock engine is ok for certain limit...but increases wear
and tear.....
hopefully that gives some insight to your q's
all the technical people should be able to give you better answer...
have fun...

If this is your primary driver....

NO, because Z is right. If you have another car to fall back on go for it. Or rebuild the engine and then juice it.

To me its a choice of when you want to rebuild it

With high mileage. Same way with any forced induction on a high milage engine. YOu can rebuild it before to install the add ons or after, but either way, you will.

It will work for a while but not as long as it would on a fresh motor. Your rings and valve seats have more wear on them then a newer motor. This increases the wear factor. Eventually you will rebuild it anyway.

Whats that saying... If you want to play you gotta pay.
