3 years ago my younger cousin bought a brand new firebird formula right after he graduated from high school. He had the car for two years. In those two years he had 6 minor accidents and two speeding tickets. LS1/LT1 and teenagers are a bad combination.

Now he drives a v6 4x4 dodge dakota. In the year and a half that he has had that truck no accidents or tickets. I wonder why.

I am still in shock from yesterday...that car is raw muscle and it just begs to be floored..the tires are $300 a peice...they hook up VERY well...we squeeled all through first but we didn't even chirp second! Now that's some quality tires..

Take a look at my web site and my LS1 Camaro. With just a few mods my Camaro ran a 12.82 the first 6 months I had it. Ported the heads, installed a loose converter and headers and ran 11s. My Mustang doesn't run too bad either. Click on the horse and see my launch. It was a fun car, but about two months ago I wrecked the Mustang and decided to part it out. I'm lucky to be here.

Those are extremely impressive times but come on that is more than "a few" mods. Sorry to hear about the 'Stang.

Vyrus,

Definitely more than a few mods now to run 11s which I am running now. I said just a few mods to run a 12.82. At that time I only had a catback, lid, tires, and a little weight reduction like removing the spare tire, sway bar and maybe 25 more pounds of unneeded items. That 12.82 was with a 2.73 gear.

The only chance you have is if your buddy sucks with a 6-speed. i'm pretty sure he's going to spin his tires like mad during launch. if you hook up real nice, you might have a chance but it's a very small chance! good luck

There is a ton of work done to it, I'll try to list all the performance:

CAI
Headers
Downpipe
Straight pipes into mufflers
4 inch chrome tips
Superchip
Short throw shifter

But it is a sweet ride and i'd definatally wouldn't mind having it. It's dropped with rims, 5% tint, grille, stripes, ect...but it won't be a match for my Maxima once I get the 5spd in.

Hey Mack, what size pulley are you running?? Maybe you should throw on a 3.125 and if he cant drive stick you could have a chance...i think.

costcowholesale,

The key ingredients for a good 60' is traction and torque. I get excellent traction and my engine dynoed 430 pounds of torque. Mostly because of my loose converter.
