My dad had a 68 GTS w/ a balanced and blueprinted 440, equipped with the purple camshafts and an 850 dbl pumper Holley and 4 speed manual transmission and he used to beat up on those exotic sport cars traveling between Springfield, Ma and Hartford, Conn on a daily basis. I remember him burying that mercury speedometer needle down off the face, I guess it was about 150 mph and still accelerating when he backed out of it....scary for a 10 yr old at that time!!!!!
